The three of them headed for Becca's house. Abdullah had to go for a very important meeting so he apologized to the women and dropped them off at Becca's house. Becca quietly opened the door and walked in. Allonia followed behind her and sat down on the couch next to Becca who was pouring water for herself and Allonia in two tall metal glasses that were quite tarnished.

  "I'm very sorry........" Allonia began.

"If you are going to talk about the unfortunate event that took place at your house, I'm not going to listen to you. It's better for us to forget about it and move on," interrupted Becca. Allonia didn't say another word and silence fell in the room. Guilt was filling Allonia's mind drop by drop, she'd done a sin without knowing and then people who hadn't even known her for even a week stood by her side. It's almost like God sent Becca as an angel in Allonia's life that would protect her, for the first time in about a decade she felt the love of a mother. Becca was her inspiration, her role model, her only family member and now she'd started to get afraid of losing her too. She felt like she was cursed and sooner or later all her loved ones left her. While Allonia was hanging upon her thoughts and trying to make sense out of them, Becca quietly got up and headed towards the tiny kitchen to make fresh coffee. Allonia snapped back to reality and saw Becca in the kitchen stirring the rich coffee powder her mother had sent from Canada in milk, she got up and went in the kitchen to help her.

"Allonia you were hospitalized just an hour ago, please don't bother doing this. I would love for you to rest so I can see my little friend back on her feet again," requested Becca as she grabbed the spoon out of her weak hand.

"I love you Becca, you are the nicest and most honest person, I've ever met," replied Allonia.

"I'm pleased, you are good at buttering!" exclaimed Becca as she blushed slightly. Becca had been constantly trying to avoid the topic about Allonia's relatives but after what had happened it was important to inform her aunt. Becca handed a steaming cup of coffee to Allonia as they walked back towards the couch together.

"Allonia, I don't want to put stress on you but after the series of events that occured and the consequences that occurred after, I need to ask you. Is there a specific reason that you don't like your aunt?" questioned Becca worriedly. Allonia didn't say anything at first, she just sat there with a blank face with the fresh coffee cup in her hand. Becca felt Allonia shiver a little before replying,

"As soon as my cousin, Sairah turned fourteen last year, my aunt got her married and this year when I turned fourteen my aunt suggested my dad to get me married as well but my dad was an educated man and said that he wouldn't get me married until I was at least eighteen and that Aunt Sameera shouldn't have got her own daughter married at such a young age either. Aunt Sameera ignored my dad and if I live with her she'll probably get me married as well to a man who's way older than me and I don't want to get married. She is going to consider me a burden for herself. I want to become an independent woman like you. I want to study." Becca carefully listened to her and pondered upon the problem. She could only find one solution and that was escaping. The best thing for Allonia to do right now was to escape.

Do you think there's another solution that is better than escaping?
