The Last peaceful day

I can't remember having a calm and quiet life. I don't know if one of those even exist. Ever since I was little I was told that our world is filled with monsters, bad people and evil creatures that humanity will fear for centuries. Just like a every story known to mankind there's always a hero to every villain. In this case heroes, but keep in mind this isn't just some story. Life has its twists and turns, ups and downs, along with its left's and rights. We must light the way not only for our sake, but for others, human or not. We have to be the protectors, the knights, the defenders of the world, the Guardians.

MONDAY APRIL 3RD:

Ryan is fast asleep in room. The sound of the soft blowing fan is dominate at this hour. Time feels as if it were still. Ryan's mom opens his door quietly then softly whispers "Ryan you're going to be late for your flight, get up lazy boy."
Ryan moves slightly as a sign that there's life amongst the mountain of blankets. Ryan struggles to speak. "Give me a sec mom".
His mother smiles then shuts the door and heads to the kitchen to make Ryan some breakfast.
Ryan gets dressed in front of the bathroom mirror. He looks at his reflection for a moment looking back at all the things he has done in his past school years. With a smile he speaks to himself,
"Just another day in paradise."
Ryan's little sister watches him move about.
"Ry, where are you going?" Ryan's little sister asked in a small voice.
He turns around then smiles. "I'm going to see some friends that I've met at school."
She sits there looking at him with love and admiration in her eyes. "Will you be back for my birthday?" She asked with excitement.
Ryan sits next to her pulling her close to him. "Of course I'll be there. You're my little sister after all."
His sister jumps with excitement. "I can't wait to become 6. I'm going to have lots of presents, a big cake, presents, and more cake."
Ryan laughs, "You know a few more years and you get to go to my school."
She jumped up and down then starts to do a dance of joy. "That when I get to see what my powers are right?" She asks with all her energy. She turns to Ryan. "Can you show me again, please I want to see."
Ryan looks at her then pats her head softly. He holds out his hand and starts to focus on forming and ball of fire. Moments later his poorly light room starts to glow Brighter and brighter the more he focuses. His sister watches him amazed by what he can do.
His mom calls both of them from the kitchen. "I made some breakfeast!"
They both made a run for the kitchen. The two of them surrounded the small table that they have used for a dinning table for many years.
Ryan's mom dishes up their food "Amber, I won't be home early today. I have a meeting to attend to. It's very important."
Ryan nods to see if Amber was okay. Amber give a slight smile to show that he shouldn't worry. After breakfast Ryan went to his room to finish packing up for school.

Ryan's mom watches him with tears in her eyes. She knows that her little boy won't be back for 4 months. He turns around to see her standing in tear. Ryan walks up to her and gives her a strong hug.
"Mom I'll be back before you know it. I'll check up on your guys every night and I'll keep you updated on what's going on."
"I know I'm just going to miss seeing you here. Your sister is going to be lonely. She is going to be so worried once you leave." Her voice shakes as she begins to cry.
Ryan lets go and packs his things in his car. He walks inside one last time, taking every memory he has made in his small house. Ryan turns to his sister. His sister sniffles slightly as he walks closer. She was trying not to cry. Ryan bends down and gives her a hug. She instantly starts crying holding him tightly.
"Don't forget to bring back a gift or two for me." She crys harder.
Ryan laughs, "I'll bring lots of gifts. I promise."
She laughs a little and gives him one last squeeze. "I love you Ry, don't be a dummy. Be carful." Ryan laughs, "I will be back before you know it." Ryan picks up his sister for a group hug then heads back to his car. The engine roars to life and he takes off. He watches his family waving bye to him through the driver side mirror.

2 hours later Ryan had arrived at the airport. He pulled out his phone to check the time. 12:43 P.M. "Ha, could spare some time." Ryan walks in the airport with his luggage. With nothing to do Ryan does what he always does which is getting lost in his thoughts.
Moments passed by and Ryan is still and hour and a half early. A boy about Ryan's age spots him from a far and begins to hurry towards him.
"Um, sorry to bother you. I was wondering if flight V-232 has left yet." The boy asked in a nervous voice.
Ryan looks up at him as he speaks. "Not yet. We still have an hour or so left."
The stranger sighs in relief. "Oh thank God. I was so worried I would miss my flight." The boy sits next to him dripping his bags on the floor in front of him. He turns to Ryan and holds out his hand. "My name Scott by the way".
Ryan shakes his hand. "Ah not too many Scotts around here in these parts. My name is Ryan."
Scott looks at Ryan's bags and observers that they are heading to the same academy.
"I always thought it was weird that they sent us bags when we got accepted. I mean I have a bag that is a lot bigger than these." Scott jokes.
Ryan looks at his own bag then at Scotts. "I think it's cool. It's kind of like when you go to a college tour to see what it's like and they hand out stuff. Plus this bag is all I really need. I try to pack light."
Ryan and Scott continued to chat about the smallest things like. What foods they liked, what music they listen too, and what they are interested in to study about.
An alarm interrupts their conversation signaling that their flight has arrived. Both Scott and Ryan boarded their plan like rocket ship as instructed to. They made sure that they followed everything that the attendent instructed them to do to make sure their flight was safe as possible. Before they knew it they left Earth and was heading to a space station that was located near Saturn where they would spend their time training.
Ryan looked outside the ships side window as they flew farther away from his home. Ryan takes a deep breaths then let's it out slowly to calm his nerves.
Scott taps Ryan's shoulder. "Are you okay."
Ryan nodded. "Yeah, it's just that I'm worried about my family. My mom is always busy and my little sister doesn't get along with others at school where I'm from. I'm worried that she won't get the attention she needs."

Scott looks out the window. "Yeah it's rough being the younger child. I remember thinking to myself that my brother would be home tomorrow every day for a year. Eventually I just gave up on waiting for him. Two years later after he had left we got a letter saying he's gone out of his mind and decided to run off." Tears start to form in Scotts eyes.
Ryan turns to scott. "I'm sorry to hear that."
Scott laughs slightly wiping the tears away. "No it's okay, bad memories that's all."
There was a slight pause of silence. "Your sister, she must mean a lot to you. That's good, don't forget her. It'll change you if you let go like I did with my brother."
Ryan smiles slightly. "Thanks, I wont".
4 hours has passed. Most of the passengers were lost in their dreams including both Scott and Ryan. Rest was something that everyone needed. Each and every Guardian slowly let's sleep take their minds, only to rejuvenate them for their arrival. The sound of silence began to spread as time passed. Silence is dominate yet again.
