Dreams are weird, for many years we thought our dreams had meaning. Many believed that this was one of the most effective way that god used to communicate to us. Some refuse to think such belief because they fear not of the message but the thought that some dreams are too evil to be sent by such a figure of purity. Dreams that fill us with guilt, regret, anger, and grief is God's way to show us we as people are monster. One's darkest dreams is another's brightest future. It is up to us to choose where we stand.
April 4th:
Ryan tosses and turns in his sleep. Visions of unsettling sights emerged from the darkest thoughts of his mind.
He dreams:
Ryan looks around. He holds his hand out but it too dark to even tell if his hand is there. Whispers surround him causing him to turn in every direction in panic, but one voice calls out louder than the rest.
"Ry, you left me. You lied to me." A small voice crys out sounding simular to Amber.
"Amber, where are you? I can't see, where are you!" Ryan falls to the floor. He starts breathing heavily.
"Ryan, you could have saved me. You didn't have to leave me. I didn't want you to go but you did any way. I knew you hated me." Ambers voice draws closer then dissipates at random.
Ryan starts to crawl around trying to feel his away, but there's no walls surrounding. Ryan screams out in frustration, "Amber, where are you!"
The voices grew quiet as he tries to listen as if they are toying with him. Ryan trys to focus on forming a ball of fire in his hand so he could use it as a light, but he had no luck.
"You're just like dad."Ambers voice yells in anger. "You left us for what, to become something you're not. What do you have to prove to people. Don't you see, I care for you big brother. I admired you from the beginning. My closest friend was you, but you left me." Her voice screamed and echoed with every hateful verse.
Ryan's eyes start to water as the hurtful words came out of the soft and kind voice. "I'm sorry Amber, I'm sorry. I just wanted you to be proud."
The voices grew silent. The only sound was Ryan as he cried begging for forgiveness. Moments later he stop. He was waiting for something, a sign of her to let him know that she's safe.
A whisper grows steadily, "You lied to me."
Suddenly green eyes surrounded him. Screeching noises blasted from each set of ghoulish eyes. They limp closer and closer to Ryan.
Ryan stood there frighten as each figure grew closer.
"Ry don't you wanna play. We missed you. We missed you. We always missed you." The voices started to morph into a horrifying growl. "We missed you." One of the figures grabbed his should.
Ryan jumps gripping his arm rest. With a deep breath he looks around. He hadn't moved from his seat ever since he left Earth. Ryan sighs then looks out the window then started talking to himself. " Holy shit, that's fucked up." Sweat dripped from his forehead. Ryan turns to Scott who was sound asleep. "Shit, it wasn't real. Just a dream."
42 minute later there was a loud ringing noise that alerted the sleeping guardians that they are getting close to their destination. Ryan bumped Scotts arm to wake him. "Hey, check this out."
Scott mumbled a little the open one of his eyes. Within seconds Scott was wide awake. The sight of the Academy shocked him. "Dude, it's huge. How does anyone not see that from a far?"
Ryan shrugs not taking his eyes from the planet sized base. "Don't know but I'm liking what I see."
One by one the guardians were dismissed from the ship that they have arrived in. Ryan steps foot on the ground then performs one hop. "Oh, artificial gravity."
Scott leaps as well to give it a test. "Wow feels like Earth doesn't it?"
Ryan looks at Scott knowing thay Scott was trying to be funny.
The large group of guardians were led in a giant room. A short brown haired women made her way to the front of the crowd standing on a big platform.
"Welcome everyone, I'm glad to officially congratulate everyone for being here. It's amazing to see everyone here that wants to make a difference here today." The woman looks at Ryan for a moment giving him a welcoming smile.
"Very soon we are going to divide each and every one of you into your groups. Now we aren't choosing your fireteam, that's for you to decide. We are setting you guys up for teachers. We like to call them CTs." The small women points to the row of adults.
"CTs are your Combat Trainers. They will teach you everything you need to know to survive."
An hour later she finishes her speech which inspired very few people in the large crowd. Each guardian was given a number from 1 to 10. Ryan looked at his card which had a 7. Scott had a 4.
Scott shakes Ryan's hand," Looks like we have to split sunsinger."
Ryan smiles, "Yeah, see you around gunslinger. Don't get in trouble, Alright?"
Scott starts to walk away but turns towards Ryan to say one last thing. "Hey if you ever need backup, signal me." Scott tosses a small little watch that has a built in communicator.
Ryan catches it and yells over the crowd. " Isn't it a little early for friendship bracelets?"
Scott pounds his chest. "Hey you'll be thanking me later."
The two of them laugh and split off there separate ways.
