Riley's POV

It was all done.

Finally done.

I was now back home, suddenly remembering all the things I've been through.

Surprising how a simple person can defeat a royal blood.

Well not to brag or anything I guess.

When I finally reached my cottage after a long walk, I opened the door. Wait, where's mom? And why is it so dar—

"SURPRISE!!! HAPPY HOMECOMING!!!"

"GAH SON OF A GOLDEN CROW— GUYS?!"

My eyes widened at the sight of everyone; mom, Gordella, grandma, Lyra, Lyca, Marcus, and Bill. But what hit me was... where IS zhion?

I shrugged off the thought and simply ran and hugged all of them one by one, as well as smiling at the other folks they invited over, namely even the knight who helped me, and the other people included in Grodella's plan.

And I was curious as heck to know who the knight was.

"Hey you!"

I ran up to him, everyone was busy getting their food on the table.

"Hm?"

"I never got your name!"

"Well you'll be surprised if you did."

I shook my head, eager to know his name and face.

He took his helmet off, which caused me to gasp a little.

"Edward?!"

"Surprise...?"

"YOU HELPED ME?!"

"Sure did, I had a change of heart."

"Well, what made you have a change of heart?"

He glanced at Lyra who was talking to Lyca and was laughing, and quickly averted his eyes from her.

"Oh you met Lyra huh? Nice."

"You're not mad I don't like you anymore?"

"Nah of course not. Besides, if I should be seeing people happy and in love, it should be all of you guys. And where's Zhion?"

"Oh, good news to tell, he and I are on good terms. And I don't... know actually. A few minutes ago, he was still here."

"Thanks." I gave him a quick smile and asked more other people if they've seen him, but, ugh nope.

I was about to ask Grodella, but, decided to leave her with Bill she was talking to.

Wow, guess she found her love.

I looked around the room, seeing my brother with Lyca, Lyra with Edward, Grodella with Bill— UGH SEEING THEM IN LOVE MAKES ME SICK!

Well, not exactly sick.

Ugh okay, maybe jealous.

I spoke up, "If anyone needs me— I-I'll be at the pond nearby."

"Huh is my Riley alright?"

"Don't worry Mrs. Redberry, we've set up— something good in mind for Riley." Grodella winked.

I went to the pond, sighing while viewing at my reflection.

Despite being surprised at what they did for me, I was still kind of... depressed.

Why?

Zhion, that's why.

Just about two months ago, we, had an argument.

Saying he was jealous, and likes me.

Wait, that's right, he LIKES me!

Wait is it the traditional oh so called "I like you as a friend" or the "I like like you. Like, I like like you cause I like— okay in short, I LIKE YOU. LIKE FEELINGS."

Since then he wasn't talking to me normally like he would do. I'd be at least happy to know that he would talk to me again like usual, you know, shouting, glaring, threatening. Yeah, HIS ways at talking to me.

Oh gosh I used the word like too many times.

Anyway, I was just really hoping no one would see me cry. I looked around, good. No one.

I suddenly burst into tears, the drops suddnenly going in the pond where I rested both my feet at.

I lied down the grass, closing my eyes, my tears still going out of both my eyes.

I heard some ruffling of grass, which caused me to stand right up and look around.

"H-hello?"

I summoned my bow and an energy arrow, placing the arrow's tail in between the bowstring, placing its head in the bow's iron handle.

I was about to shoot it, when a hooded figure jumped out of the trees, its hood falling off his face.

My hand was trembling as I reverted the bow back, making it vanish from my hands, turning into an orb and tucking it back in my pocket.

My eyes widened as if I've seen a ghost.

I slowly took steps back, only to have him take steps forward.

It can't be him... can he?

"It's been some time... Riley."

"YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I'VE MISSED YOU DAMN IT!"

I darter towards him and jumped, and spreading my arms, tackling him into a hug.

He was laughing. Wait, he was? I've never heard him laugh before.

"I'd say the same."

I didn't want to go back to the cottage, since I kinda wanted to spend some alone quality time with him. Since I... guess I... like him...?

I did my routine again awhile ago, lying down the grass, barefooted and soaking it in the pond.

I loked sideways and saw him at my right, doing the same.

"It's been like what, a month?"

"Mhm. Took you some time to get back here, huh?"

I nodded.

"Yeah true, it would take that long if I don't have a horse. Say, how've you been?"

"Same old me I guess. Nothing more, nothing less, just the usual."

"Ahh."

That was all I could say, since I couldn't even tell him how I feel.

He then had two magic blueberries. They were said to give you a different personality when you eat one.

He popped a bluberry one his mouth, while I also popped on on my mouth.

His eyes turned yellow for a moment, before turning back to normal.

"What did you—"

He suddenly stammered and blushed, "O-oh I-I d-d-don't kn-know."

"Uhh Zhio—" I touched his shoulder.

He jumped slightly, "Wh-wh-what?" he was blushing.

Okay. I am guessing he got... the shy ones...

"Wh-what about you

Funny, I don't feel anything.

I shrugged, "Beats me, I don't know."
