Chapter 6: The Quest Begins

Riley's POV

"I'm in!—"

"The Day Forgotten, Zhion."

"What about it?" he said, as he dried his hair and stopped, "Oh."

I stared at him blankly which means he's right.

"It means we will be doing this mission, without remembering anything."

"But how—"

"Yeah I know, when I say it like that, it doesn't make sense. But when Princess Lavender explained it, it came to me now."

"What?"

"It means, we need to start this story all over again, we will start as strangers all over again, and need to accomplish this quest, even if we forget. Understand?"

He nodded, putting on his shirt and his boxers underneath his towel that still covers his legs.

"No one can ever know what's gonna happen, or else it's an instant failed quest."

"We don't know when this event will occur. All we need to do for now is be prepared."

He nodded, and looking down.

"Zhion, are you—"

I got interrupted and felt a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist.

Darn it I was just as red as my hooded cape.

"The better it is when I tell you sooner, since this will... be forgotten anyway."

He let go of the hug and I looked at him.

"Riley, I know this is too obvious, but I always liked you. Always have."

"I like you too, Zhion."

He was leaning in— wait what is he doing?

He was slowly closing his eyes, slowly... and slowly and... I slowly closed mine and...

"OW!" I think I just hit my head off the counter. Is it vampire's day?

"Wake up, Riley, you're gonna be late!"

Late for what...

I looked at my phone on the desk and saw the repetitive alarm with a note, 'WAKE UP BRUH, FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!'

Yep. I am late.

"WAAAAAAH I'M DARN LATE!"

I quickly went in the bathroom and took 5 minutes of bath, and quickly took my uniform and changed my clothes. Funny I was wearing a red cape with a white dress of some sort.

Anyway, I quickly took the two toasts on my plate and quickly gobbled them up. Mom makes the best buttered toasts! Grandma, who just came from the kitchen, handed me my favorite hot cocoa.

"Thanks grandma!"

"You're welcome. Now go ahead, you should be running to school now!"

I quickly gulped down the cocoa, "Oh right, bye mom, bye grandma, FRESHMAN YEAR HERE I COME! Oh and I guess I'm just gonna find brother at school, guess he got off early."

I quickly grabbed all my necessities and headed out for the door.

"She grows up fast, doesn't she?"

I ran to school, only to cross paths with a blond girl, with curly locks.

"Sorry! Didn't see ya there, my name's Riley, wanna go to school with me, cause we are pretty late!"

"Yeah, and I'm sorry too. Anyway, I'm Grodella, nice to meet you, come on!"

I grabbed her hand and we started dashing towards the school.
