Chapter 17: High School Halloween Festival (Part 2)

Grodella's POV

Suddenly out of nowhere, we saw Zhion carrying Riley. They both looked like as if they've seen real ghosts or something.

"Uh are you guys okay?"

They dashed past me, which was... eh.

"Okay... that was... awkward..."

"What's with them?" Bill asked as he approached me, helping me with the food, since he decorated awhile ago, just this afternoon.

I shrugged, "Beats me. They looked scared. Come on, we should go check them out."

He nodded as I took the cupcake I was busy snacking on and ran after Bill, who was apparently running after those two.

I quickly grabbed him when he was at their line of sight, telling him we should first find out what was really going on.

Riley started, "Sorry I was in a bit of a panic there."

"Same. As long as you have me around, this bastard will always protect his moron from her."

She smiled and scooted near him to the tree they were leaning at, "Thanks, you're a really great friend." as she rested her head on his shoulder, making him tense up.

We both giggled, "Look the idiots are being sweet."

Bill rolled his eyes, "Maybe too sweet."

"Pffft you're just jealous cause I never let you... nevermind." I mumbled, which caused him to look at me.

"What was that?"

I rolled my eyes and smiled smugly, "Nothing."

Lyra's POV

I was just sitting down on my chair, when I kept getting texts.

I kept looking around, but seeing almost everyone with phones.

Pffft she's finding me ;)

I smiled at the text and kept smiling while looking around, but not knoeing who it is. Jeez who is it anyway?!

Go ahead to the library if you want to find me!

I rolled my eyes as I just shrugged as I headed to the library to go ahead and meet who the stranger was. Pffft, I forgot I shouldn't trust people easily, like mother said.

Anyway, I suddenly glot blindfolded, which caused me to smile.

"Wh-who is this...?"

"Do you even need to know who?"

My heart instantly jumped at his voice: Edward?!

"Why'd you bring me here anyway?"

He removed his hands from my eyes and gave me a book— NO WAY! Tales of Fiorila Beruma?! I'VE BEEN LONGING FOR THIS BOOK!

"SERIOUSLY?!"

"Yeah!"

I tackled him into a hug, "YOU'RE THE BEST, THANK YOU!"

"Well you are a bookworm after all, so figured I got you that since you kept staring at it at the bookstore the other day, like you wanted to kill it yourself or something."

I laughed, "Come on, let's go back."

Just then, he suddenly became serious, which made me nervous.

"Something... wrong?"

"On the way to Zhion and Riley earlier, I walked past Rosella."

Rosella's POV

I SWEAR I AM GOING TO MAKE HER PAY! I stormed off as I went back to my friends at the party.

Just then, I saw Grodella, one of Riley's friends, or as I like to call her— Blondie locks.

"Hey Blondie locks, do you know where your dorky friend is? And also Zhion?"

She glared daggers at me and scowled, "Just back off and leave me alone, Rosella, you're just obviously going to cause trouble anyway. Just leave them alone!"

"Why, are they a couple now?"

She was silent, which means they aren't.

"Hmph, thought so. Come on guys, let's go."

They all nodded, sticking out their tongues at her with disgust as we took a move on to find those two.

Just then, I heard faint giggling. Wonder who is it?

"You guys can go chill at the crowd. I'd rather handle this myself."

They nodded as they turned back and just went to enjoyed the party. I grabbed a few cookies, since finding them is making me feel hungry.

Just then, someone spilled some punch on my dress!

I glared daggers at the familiar Elisa, who had a shocked face on.

"I-I'm s-so so so s-sorry! Really I—"

"Oh so you wanted to do that to get revenge for your sister huh? Well tell her you both don't stand a chance against me!"

I stomped off angrily from the party, and continued searching for those two.

Lastly, I bumped into Thomas. Yuck, Lavender's rumor boyfriend.

"Pfft well if it isn't Prince Charming. I already told your girlfriend's sister to never let your girlfriend near me, or this is going to go dirty. Just so if I do see her, we have some unsettled matter to take care of. Got it? Good."

I finally walked off, hoping not to bump on some other more idiots here.

Elisa's POV

I really wanted to cry, but the crowd was still there, some were looking at me, while the others were trying to comfort me.

I just ran off to the bleachers, where I buried my face on my lap and started crying, so no one could hear me.

Just then, I heard footsteps coming my way, so I made my sobs softer. But the person still noticed though, cause he handed me a handkerchief.

"Th-thanks..."

I sniffed as I blew through the handkerchief, and was surprised to learn that it was Alec who gave me that. He leaned in and kissed me gently, which really comforted me, right now, but I was still not calmed down.

"Care to explain your current state right now?"

Marcus' POV

Lyca and I were having our nice chat when suddenly, someone forcefully bumped into me.

"What the hell?!"

"Oh ho, look, it's Mr. Brother dear here. Anyway, out of my way, I've got some unfinished business to deal with." Rosella said, shoving me to give way to wherever she was going.

Going nowhere good. And I have a terrible feeling she is heading for my sister. I quickly rushed to inform the others. Figures we will all meet up at the bleachers, as we've said to each other when we are facing some problems.

"My sister's in trouble!"

"I walked past Rosella earlier when I went to search for Zhion and Riley!"

"She said she's going to settle some business with Lavender!"

"She was finding Riley from me!"

Me, Edward, Grodella, and Thomas all said in chorus. One thing's for sure, she's obviously after those two.

Elisa's shaky voice said, "Sh-she s-s-said I-I was nothing c-compared to her..."

Alec hugged her and comforted her and turned to all of us, still rubbing Elisa's back.

"You guys go on ahead. We'll follow if Elisa's calm."

We all nodded as me, Lyca, Lyra, Edward, Bill, Grodella and Thomas went on ahead to the tree Grodella and Bill talked about when they spied on them earlier.

I could see disappointment in Thomas' eyes though, Lavender was still at the school clinic, resting because of her headache and was unable to come with us.
