i could feel the burning sun asking me to open my eyelids. my body still felt unconscious. after blinking a few times, i yawned and looked towards the other side of my bed. a grin stretched upon my face as i saw beautiful skin and long back markings turned away from me. i propped my arm on my pillow and raised my body just a bit, then reached out and ran my fingers on lexa's bare arm. she was awake though, so she turned to look at me, sighing as she turned over.

"good morning clarke." the huskiness in her voice made me smile. as i did, her lips curled into a big smile.

"good morning. how are you feeling?" i whispered as i put more weight onto my arm as i shifted into a lying position.

"fine. just a little nervous how i'm going to sneak out of your room." i could feel her eyes on me when i threw my head back and laughed. "you are keeping it secret, aren't you?"

"of course. father would kill me. no one can know about this, lexa. i'm not even telling my friends."

she nodded and sighed, "i understand. but you do know that i'm leaving tomorrow?"

my heart dropped a little bit. "yes. will you be back soon?"

"as soon as i can." she glanced at the window, "i need to go." i watched her stand up and walk to her clothes which were scattered amongst the floor. she quickly dressed herself. she picked up her vest before putting in on and eyes it for a moment and then she spoke up. "you can keep this here. so i'll always be there." she turned and left it on my dresser.

"thank you." i mumbled and she walked towards me. she pecked my lips and as soon as she retreated, i missed their taste.

"goodbye, clarke."

"goodbye lexa."

she smiled at me before opening and closing the door, her green eyes never leaving mine.
