Things I Hate About Warriors Fanfiction

ThunderClan, ThunderClan.

Why is it that every Clan in every fic just.. channel ThunderClan.

Let me explain.
There are some specific things that ThunderClan does or has. Specific things - they're noted to be things that the other Clans don't do or have.

But many of these turn up in fics.

This isn't a major problem, it's simply annoying.

The first thing is a forest - a deciduous, english forest.

I love english forests as much as the next person. I've only gone to England once, but it really was beautiful.

But not every Clan resides in England. There are so many other types of forest.
A taiga, for example.
A boreal forest, coniferous forests, american forests, (I'm assuming this is a thing, my lack of knowledge about other countries is worrying.) New Zealand forests (I'm going to write this one day and no one can stop me) as well as Australian forests, etc. They're all different and interesting, so why not write about one of them ?

Or why not write about a forest at all ?
How about an African savannah (I'm taking this too because yes) a gorge, a moorland, some other type of grassland, a mountain, a badland, desert, island, a tunda... anything ! Who says your Clan has to be traditional ? Cats don't live in an African Savannah but I'm going to write some there.

This, however, is getting a lot better ! Honestly is more roleplaying that have troubles with this. (I mean Instagram roleplays, that's where I do the majority of my roleplaying.)

The Hunter's Crouch.

This is quite possibly my biggest annoyance.

The Hunter's Crouch isn't used outside ThunderClan. Made and used by them and them only. You won't catch ShadowClan doing that. You won't catch old SkyClan doing that, despite the fact that they lived in the same type of territory as ThunderClan.

So why is IceClan all getting into Hunter's Crouches ?

Is that HoneyClan I see doing strange crouches ?

I sure hope not.

Use a crouch as a hunting technique by all means, but try to be original. Please.

Another thing is values.
Not all Clans share the same values.

I mean, fanClans don't have to follow the same Warrior Code for a start !

But let's take a look into ThunderClan's values. They're very nosy nobles who value family over their Clan.

Family.

This was a trait that Firestar brought into the Clan. I could analyse that but that's a different book for a different time.

In short, in Bluestar's time, this expectation to care about family wasn't needed. Father's didn't matter, queens didn't even have to reveal the father, and Thrushpelt was praised for claiming kits were his own and doing approximately nothing else.

But in Firestar's ThunderClan, father's are expected to take care of their kits. Spiderleg is shamed for doing what most did in Bluestar's ThunderClan.

And it seems almost all fics and Clans mirror Firestar ThunderClan.

And if you don't spend so much time hating on Warriors and (over) analyzing it like me, you might miss the last one.

I mean, it didn't matter that much, I was just proposing a point.
