Chapter Twenty-Five: Mommy-Boss

Rain seemed to be the only thing that kept Aja in the office longer than usual today. She honestly wanted nothing more but to be snuggling with her babies. Her and Kyrie were in a good space and were actually enjoying each others company. He'd flown out for a game last night which left the kids emotional and under Aja for the rest of the night.

"Mommy, does this look like a dragon or a lizard? Stanley said it looks like a falling leaf." Kendall said with tears in his eyes.

I'm gonna kick Stanley's ass for messing with my baby. Aja thought.

"Baby, don't listen to Stanley he doesn't know what art is and obviously it's a magical dragon with fire as wings, right?" He nodded while Aja wiped his tears.

"Yes and he has a long tail with spikes but Sasha helped me draw them." Aja smiled at their creative abilities.

"Speaking of Sasha where is she?" Aja asked brushing his hair from his face.

Stanley opened Aja's office door carrying Sasha on his back with a dozen stickers on his forehead and a pink crown leaning on the top of his head.

"Mommy had to put Stanley in time out because he was being mean to Kendall and I made him wear my princess crown."

"I think that was a great punishment sweetheart but why did you put stickers on his forehead?" Stanley sat carefully on the small sofa Aja had on the far end of her office.

"That was just to make him look extra pretty." Sasha giggled.

"I only agreed to two sticker but she insisted on several more to enhance my manly features." Stanley tickled her tiny feet.

"Hey don't you need to get back to working on editing those interviews before Richard comes in here huffing and puffing? I really don't have time to hear him nagging about firing anyone today, especially not you."

"Yeah I should probably get back to work. I'm gonna come back around 1pm for lunch, how does chicken nuggets and cooked apples slices sound?"

"Yummy!" Kendall and Sasha shouted.

"Okay I'll will see y'all later." Stanley waved and closed the door behind him.

Kyrie sat under a tree writing down some ideas he had for his birthday though he may end up being a game night for him it was still the thought that counted. He continued scribbling throughout the page when vibrations for his pocket interrupted him.

"HI DADDY!" He heard Kendall and Sasha shout into the phone.

"Hey babies, what y'all doing?" Kyrie smiled looking up at the clouds.

"We're eating lunch in mommy's office while she's in a meeting with Uncle Richard. She's been in there for ages." Sasha expressed dramatically.

"Oh yeah, well mommy is a boss so, her meetings will take a while. When you get older you'll understand what I mean." He assured.

"So, she's a mommy-boss?" Kendall asked.

"Yeah she's a mommy-boss, big boy. Have you two been behaving for mommy?" Kyrie said watching the clouds slowly glide over the sun.

"Yes, we have been good all day." Kendall said rolling his car across the stack of files.

Mina poked her head in with her three kids in tow. "Auntie Mina is here we have to call you back because she has ice cream."

"Alright, have mommy call me tonight, okay? I love you both."

"I will. We love you, daddy." Wasting no time the call ended.
