Brooke & Canyon

Canyon's Entrance

Brooke looked up startled and saw a fox-like figure who was brown and tan all over with a swirling mist like tail. She scanned him with her eyes and noticed she'd never seen him before.

"You startled me..!" She said to him with a glare. "Sorry, you scared me too" he said looking at her with a 'friendly' smile. Brooke stared at him for a second, first a look of confusion, then she looked at him and looked into his beautiful mysterious colored eyes. Once he noticed she fidgeted and she noticed then looked away and blushed for a second.

"Oh, uh, sorry," she blushed and looked where he was at before up in a high part of the tree. She said to herself in her head,"No, where'd he go? I need to know if he's caused any trouble or if he's friendly..!". She looked around a bit alarmed and didn't see him. A second after she turned around and got off the tree and saw him levitating off the ground looking blurry. He suddenly went gliding slowly to the ground and Brooke was able to see him in normal vision. "So what's your name," he said in a soft calming voice as he disappeared again in front of her this time and teleported behind her. "I was going to ask the same thing," she said as she smiled at him.

"My name is Canyon. The protector of Shinsu Field." He replied to her," now tell me, what's your name?" She answered in a calm, confident voice," my name is Brooke, protector of Kamiki Village," she looked at him and added," and Shinsu Field.."

She looked at him and noticed he was looking for words to explain to her with, but she told him," If your supposedly the protector of this field, then why have I never seen you and where's your collar from Amaterasu?" He looked at her and replied with a voice that she knew he had lied," alright, you've got me. I'm not the protector of this place. Or anywhere in Nippon.. I journeyed here looking for some adventure," as he teleported up back into the tree slouched on a midway branch," I guess I'm just bored with these powers of mine."

He turned to a few of his elemental forms:

She looked at him with amazement and looked impressed. "Those are just a few of your powered forms?" She asked with curiosity. "Yes, but my main and most powerful technique I've mastered is Fire." He said as he looked at her. Brooke said," How about we go and have you meet the villagers and get to know us all?" She smiled at him and started walking and slowly started trotting back towards Kamiki. "Alright, I'm down for it." He swiftly jumped to the floor and his misty tail flew behind him as fiery flames followed him without burning anything.

As they trotted back together the sun set and the owls started to 'hoo', they came past the river and the rice field, as Brooke lead the way to Kushi's house and knocked on the door and waited.

"Oh hello Brooke! It's been so long and I'm glad your awake finally! And whose that with you..?" Kushi said as she opened the door. "Oh that's my new friend," Brooke said with a short smile then turned back to Kushi,"May we come in for a little bit? I'd like Canyon to meet the villagers and get to know them." Kushi smiled and said," Of course! And would you like some of my famous brewed sake?" As she let the two in and they sat themselves down.

Later that night after the two had visited most of the still awake villagers;

Brooke had lead Canyon to a beautiful spot where she had slept for the time she needed to wait for Amaterasu and the cherry blossoms and said,"We can stay here and rest for the night, if that's alright with you" she looked at Canyon and had already gotten comfortable where her statue was. "If it's fine with you it's fine with me" he said and laid down a little farther from where she was at and snuggled up in a ball with his misty tail of his.

Brooke opened one eye and looked stared at Canyon for a little. She looked at his facial expressions and saw that he looked a bit sad and worried, and she thought he was uncomfortable. She felt a feeling of sorrow but had no idea why. Once he had made a sudden movement she laid herself back down and fell asleep.

What she didn't know was that Canyons eyes were wide open. He had his eyes the same pattern as if they were closed, so the entire time Brooke was looking at him, he was looking back at her. Canyon started to wonder,"I wonder what she thinks of me. Am I a good guy or bad guy to her? I hope nothing bad because she's been so nice, I want to repay her back and help her for a while.." After this, he finally went to bed, but scooted a little closer to Brooke.
