I walked through the streets of, what the sign had told me, 'Snowdin'. I was cold, some of my wounds from earlier battles were starting to ache, and I was incredibly sleep deprived. I had lost feeling in my fingers and toes a few minutes ago.

I had been warned about monsters, but none of them had bothered me honestly, excluding the few who decided they wanted to try and kill me. But even at that, I didn't think that monsters were all that bad. They were pretty much human beings with a different appearance.

I started laughing a little bit. No reason, I just started laughing. It was a drowsy, low laughter that probably made me sound like I was a serial killer.

"Are you okay?" A low voice asked, making me snap out of my subconscious and whip around, spooked.

It was a skeleton; he was a little taller than me, wearing a black leather jacket that looked too short for him, gray khaki shorts, and black combat boots. I felt my blood pressure skyrocket and my hands start to shake a little.

All I could do was stutter in response.

"Oh," He backed away, noticing how panicked and uncomfortable I was, "Sorry. I guess a few monsters must've hurt you, or at least scared you. Or maybe I'm just intimidating or—Sorry. I-I'm not very good with new people. Even more so when they're human."

I laughed a little, "That's understandable. My social skills aren't exactly their best either, even more so when the person I'm talking to is a monster."

Then we both laughed for a moment.

"I-I was lying before. I'm not really alright in many ways. A few of my friends—Well now ex-friends pushed me down here, and probably no one has noticed. I was trying to impress them and they pushed me down here, not that it matters, I don't have any relatives that I know or know me and, well, no friends." I rambled.

He frowned, "Really? I'm sorry about that. You seem like a really good person."

I smiled, "Thank you. That means a lot to me."

A look of realization crept onto his face, "You don't have anywhere to stay, then? If you've just fallen down?"

I nodded.

"Do you want to come and stay over at my place? I-I mean, there's no pressure, and I can totally understand if you don't want to stay at a strange skeleton's place, but I just want the offer to be out there that way you know and—" He cut himself off.

"That would be nice," I give him a shy smile.

A look of remembrance then hit his face, "Oh, sorry, my name's Sans. Sans the skeleton."

"My name's Frisk," I replied.
