Alphys was fine in the end, just a bit shaken. Sans and I headed home. My neck had stopped hurting for the most part. As we walked through Waterfall it started to tingle."Sans, I-I don't think that this was for Gaster benefits, I-I think it was for Chara's." I rubbed my neck.
"Probably. After what he convinced her off, anyone would have been on his side." Sans glared at the ground as if the ground was Gaster himself.
"What happened to you, Sans? What happened to Chara? Why does everything seem so. . . fallen apart down here?" I stopped walking.
He did too, "Do you really want to know?"
"Yes, of course, I do. All these events are just happening for reasons I don't know and that's a little upsetting!" I snapped, attempting to keep my voice as calm as I could.
He sighed, looking out at the fields of flowers before turning back to me.
"I will first tell you of how I met Gaster. When I was young my parents died during the war and for some reason, Gaster adopted me when we made it to the Underground. I helped him build the lab and the Core, and he helped me build my strength. One day I summoned up what he called 'a Gaster blaster' and then he had trapped me in the lab for years. I was almost dead by the time the monster he was mentoring, young Alphys, came and saved me. She set me free and I was found by Papyrus, half-starving. Eventually, Gaster was discredited because of what he had done to me and Alphys took over the lab. But he continued to work there under Alphys because no one could just abandon their mentor, one of the only people that believed in them. One day, a few years later, a human feel down here. And I fell in love with her. Her name was Chara, the one who is trying to take over your body. We lived together, happy and in love, for a few months before Gaster found her. He kidnapped her and I followed, but he had put her under a spell to make her live her worst experiences and worst fears. The strongest one that she had accidentally trapped herself in was me not showing up, not showing up to save her. I was too scared to harm Gaster, with him technically being my father, and I was too late to save her by the time I had gotten up the guts to get him out of the way. She died convinced that I hadn't shown up, that I had let her get tortured. And now, both want me to pay, because of separate yet many alike reasons. Gaster because he wants to remain one of the strongest in the Underground and Chara because 'I didn't show up.' Now you've gotten caught up in all of this because of you, Frisk, are one of my very few weaknesses."
I frowned a little, "Weakness?"
"I love you, Frisk, and if anything happened to you, well, I have no idea what I would do. But it'd be stupid and grief influenced."
There was a short-lived silence.
"I will protect you, Frisk. Even if that means that I am harmed or possibly killed. I would rather myself get hurt than you. You have not deserved anything that's happened to you."
"Sans, don't say that—" I suddenly stepped into pure darkness, and started falling.
A/N: Hello, yes, I am back from the dead.
I didn't fail my exams! Yay! My average was the low 70's and so I didn't fail my classes hahahaha.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I am indeed back from the dead. My update schedule should go back to normal next week and yeah that's all I have to say for now.
With that aside, stay glitchy my glitches, because those imperfections are beautiful.
Jessie, out.
