That night I found myself in a total white terrain that was infinite. I screamed out for someone, anyone to come, but only found myself screaming and crying in a totally blank terrain.

And about an hour later I found myself nearing a black terrain, that was slowly spanning over the never-ending blankness. I found myself running into it, desperate for something, anything, to happen.

Eventually, I found myself lost. I turned around multiple times, screaming and crying, needing someone anyone to find me. To hear my screams and my cries.

I felt someone tap on my shoulder.

I turned to face them at a quick pace but felt my face pale and my feet move me a few steps back as I recognized the face of. . . Chara.

"Miss me, old friend?" She asked, laughing afterward.

"W-What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice stronger than I expected.

She giggled and stepped closer to me, "Oh just trying to take control. But you're strong, stronger than I expected from someone like you."

I stepped back as she stepped forward.

"I guess I'm not as weak as everyone expects, huh?" I tried to sound tough.

She stopped and I stopped a few steps after.

"No. But not strong enough."

I felt myself falling back as if the ground had disappeared beneath my feet, even though all I saw beneath me was an infinite black ground. I felt myself falling, the wind caressing my skin and my hair sticking up. I kept myself from screaming and tried to find somewhere to hold on. But I only fell.

"I hope you're not afraid of falling because this isn't going to stop for a while." Chara's voice came from nowhere yet everywhere.

She giggled, which slowly faded from my hearing. Then I started to scream.

Sans' POV:

I heard Frisk in the other room, I was woken up by her noise.

I slowly got up, rubbing my tired eye sockets. I opened my door and peered into the darkened hallways.

"Frisk?" I called quickly, going over to her door and knocking quietly.

"Frisk? Are you okay?"

She giggled a giggle which I hadn't heard for years. . .

"Chara," I spoke her name, my eye flaming up.

"Sans! How are you?" She said, her voice mixing with Frisk's making it sound a bit echoed. . .

"What are you doing? What have you done?!" I shouted, worry and rage filling me up at the same time.

"Just visiting! I mean, it's been a few years, I've missed you! But you can't say the same, right?"

I was silent.

"It's fine, though! I've learned not to feel, being in-between the afterlife and existing, a ghost, a glitch between timelines. It's filled me with such negativity. But don't worry, you'll pay for abandoning me. You all will."

She suddenly charged at me, pushing me out of the room and onto the second floor. I groaned as I got up, feeling a sharp pain in one of my legs. I looked down and saw the bone fractured. Letting out a pain-filled breath I got up and spotted her, looking at me from the stairway.

"I-I didn't abandon you Chara. I-I was there!"

"No, you weren't!" She shouted back, her voice kind of hurt, "You never came! You just stayed home, scared of him, scared for yourself! You stayed home selfishly, letting me suffer!"

She slowly walked towards me. I could see her hands shaking a little bit.

"You abandoned me! You left me to die! And now, you're trying to make up for it! You're trying to make up for it by protecting her! Frisk! But guess what? You can't. You can't protect her forever. Because one day she will die, and you will be left with nothing. And it'll happen over, and over, and over again. Those who you love will always die, Sans."

"I will protect her!" I shouted, pushing Chara back with my magic.

"Why her? Why her? Why not me? Why not me when I was suffering?" Chara shouted, not moving.

"I was there, Chara! I was there! I promise, on my life, that I was there! H-He put you under a spell, Chara! He made you see what you most feared, he made you think that I wasn't there. But I was, I promise. I fought him until the end. I-I was so close, I-I was almost there! I-I was so close! I loved you then Chara and I still do!"

"No, you don't! You love her! And now, like you let him take away my life, I'm going to take hers."

Chara stepped back even more, against the wall, drawing a knife that I hadn't seen on her.

"No!" I jumped forward, but not fast enough, because the second I was there the knife had already made contact and who was now Frisk fell to the ground.

"S-Sans?" She looked around, shocked and panicked.

"Frisk!"
