"Here," He offered his hand to me, "I know a shortcut."

I took it, and then the world swirled around me very fast and reappeared a few seconds later, me feeling incredibly sick and trying not to puke.

"Sorry," He must've noticed how horrible I looked and felt at that point, "I'm guessing that was your first time teleporting?"

I nodded, regretting that immediately.

"Don't worry, everyone gets sick their first time. But, especially humans."

After another minute of trying not to die, I finally decided to look around. It looked like somewhere out of movies; nice little houses on either side of the trail, all of them looking quaint, and the few monsters who were out just waved at me.

It was nice to know that not every monster wanted my soul.

"This is my place," He paused, "Well, my bro and I's place, but he really isn't that social. Oh, speaking of my bro. If he doesn't seem very excited to meet you, or like he doesn't want to talk to you, it's just because he's studying to be the next Royal Scientist, after the other two retire, and he's probably just thinking about the experiments or something. And, we won't tell anyone about you. This isn't—" He cut himself off.

I wanted to ask what he was about to say, but then he headed up the steps and unlocked the door. I followed, not knowing what to expect. As he opened the door, the little self-control I had was used to not gasp and start squealing.

This looked exactly like the house from my dreams. It had nice red carpet, which was also very poofy, all brown leather furniture, two levels, the second level having beautiful hard wood, two rooms and a washroom, a small kitchen with many cupboards which were made from the same wood as the hardwood and striped pattern walls, the stripe colors being pale green and blue.

"This is really nice," I said as I did a three-sixty look around the room, sounding star struck.

He shrugged, "Thanks."

He walked over to the couch and plopped himself down, "You can sleep in my bro's room until we find some sort of a living arrangement.

I felt my eyes widen and face fluster a little, "Living arrangement?"

"Yeah," Sans replied, clueless to how uncomfortable I was, "You obviously aren't going anywhere."

I felt myself pipe up a little bit, "I-I don't want to be a burden. I'm only going to stay for a little while and then I'll go—"

He stood up. I backed away a little bit, intimidated by this sudden change.

"No, stay, I insist," He used a dark tone that made my hands start to shake a little bit.

"I don't want to be a burden," I backed away even more.

Sans laughed, "You aren't. Trust me."

A bright flash of yellow then blinded me for a moment, and Sans disappeared. And reappeared behind my back. I yelped and jumped away, trying not to hyperventilate.

He seemed a bit sorry for scaring me, but continued anyway, "There are a lot of people after your soul. Not you, but your source of life. I'm your best chance at staying alive, and I would suggest not pissing me off because I am a lot stronger that anyone would like to admit."

I could feel my breathing get sharp, and my breath getting caught in my throat, but I replied anyways, "I-I'm not afraid of you. Or of death, f-for that matter."

He laughed, "The way you're acting says otherwise."

I then felt myself get defensive, "The way you're acting says otherwise, also. Anyone tough wouldn't brag about it, they would prove it."

He then stepped towards me dangerously, his eye burning an angry yellow, "Don't try me. Or you will regret it."

I swallowed and backed off, not wanting to anger the guy who was giving me shelter any further.
