Those slimy-snakes wont know what hit them Padfoot", Sirius whispers loudly to his bespectacled friend beside him.

"Sssshhh I think I hear someone coming this way", James shushes his best mate, craning his ear to the quiet voices and footsteps becoming louder as they progress through the halls. It was just as well that James had quietened Sirius for as they turned around the corner, Aurelia and a Slytherin prefect had come into view, causing the duo to hide behind a Knight's armour statue.

"I still don't understand why you publicly associate yourself with those that your parents distained but I guess that is why you chose Ravenclaw and not Slytherin ...," the voice of Narcissa Black quietly rings through the halls. Aurelia Thorne quite liked the younger Black sister. Although she had a cold and prejudiced exterior, Aurora had always known Narcissa to have secret beliefs that blood superiority was not always true. Narcissa only shared these beliefs with the Ravenclaw girl for she trusted Aurora, and she had never told a soul about this.

"That is not the only reason as you know Sissy, but if you took the time to get to know them and befriend them, then I think you would understand, and you know I do know that it was my biological mother that has those ideals, my family now are welcoming to all blood-types", Aurora's angelic voice rings out, trying to reason with Narcissa, although already knowing it would never work.

Sirius' face immediately turned into disgust at the sight of the two girls having a normal conversation, a conversation that implied that they were quite close, well that was until he heard what his cousin had to say next.

"Oh and I honestly don't know why you let my removed cousin prance about the halls with those foolish pranks of his!", Narcissa says with great bewilderment. On hearing this Sirius was about to speak out that the pranks were not foolish and that he did not "prance" about the halls, but James had held him back, covering his mouth.

"No you will give us away!", James said a bit too loudly, causing Narcissa to look around in suspicion. Aurora had instantly recognised the voice and looked about the hall to see the messy hair of Sirius Black behind one of the Knight's amour statues.Upon seeing Aurora looking directly at them, Sirius glares at James, thinking that they would get detention now, not being able to perform their prank.

"What was that? I'm sure I heard someone ..." , Narcissa says, walking towards the Knight statue. To Sirius' utter surprise, the onyx-haired girl touched the Slytherin's arm distracting her.

"Sissy, look its already ten-thirty! We can go back to our common rooms now, let's go now, I'm sure you have essay's to do and I surely do!", Aurora says with a quick glance towards the Knight's statue that the boys were hiding after. Much to Sirius and James' relief, the older Black turned back towards Aurelia laughing good-heartedly, a noise that Sirius had not heard before, Narcissa Black's laugh was more regal and cold, not warm like the one he was hearing.

"Oh Aurora you don't need to worry about that, you are such a smart young lady that doesn't need to spend so much time on studies," Narissa says warmly at the Ravenclaw but frowns and nods, "but yes I need to finish my Charms essay, it is due tomorrow afternoon."

"Good night Aurora and please try not to help Sirius out too much, I really do not enjoy getting pranked on", Narcissa says while walking towards the Dungeons.

"I'll try not to Sissy, but good night and good luck on your essay," the onyx-haired girl says while waving goodbye to the smiling Slytherin. On seeing the Ravenclaw walk towards them, Sirius and James try to press themselves against the wall, trying to disappear into it. Only Aurora just kept walking towards the Ravenclaw tower, not even glancing towards them. Letting out a huge breath of air James didn't know he had been keeping in, he turned to face his best mate with a huge smile, only to be faced with a very troubled Sirius.

"Whats wrong ol'Padfoot? We luckily escaped a detention and you look like we just got one!", James says while chuckling.

"Thats the problem Prongs! Blackthorne had obviously seen us, and by what Narcissa was saying, this is not the first time! Why would she do that?", Sirius cries out in disbelief.

"Blackthorne? Isn't it Goldstein? And Who cares? We can now still prank the Slytherins! Come on, just forget about it!"

"Meh you're right, it must've been just a fluke!" Sirius calmly says to his bespectacled friend.

But calmness was most definitely what Sirius Black was feeling. Inside his mind, so many questions were running through his head, but one stuck out more than most making guilt slowly eat him up...

Had I honestly been wrong about Aurora Blackthorne?

For the next few days Sirius Black observed the beautiful onyx-haired girl in the great hall during meal times. Through his slightly unclouded vision of her, the shaggy haired Gryffindor began to notice the kindness and warmth of the girl that appeared coldly regal.

More and more the beauty of the Ravenclaw began to be more apparent to him, how had he not noticed it before? He started to feel a small tug at his heart as he watched her smile and laugh at others, the feeling of wanting to know her more was evident but what was more was the mystery that surrounded the girl. Why had Narcissa used the word 'chose' instead of 'sorted' while talking about Aurora Blackthorne's sorting? Why for all these years and the treatment she had received from himself, did she help the Marauders in the pranks? He had always prided himself on the fact that they hardly ever got caught during the act, but now he was unsure on if it actually was his skills in stealth or from the help of a certain girl.

So what did Sirius do to learn these things? Well, corner Lily Evans of course!
