The long red-rose hair of Lily Evans was done in a messy bun, wisps of hair framing her face. On her shoulder was the strap well-loved leather satchel, the bag swaying at her hip as she briskly walked. In her arms were a small pile of books, a common sight for the girl that James Potter adored so much. Walking out into a courtyard, some of the fiery-red strands of hair shined a copper colour as the sun hit them. It seemed that she was in a hurry, but to her aggravation a certain marauder stepped in her way, stopping her in her tracks, an annoyed frown beginning to show on the Gryffindor girl.

"Black, can you please get out of the way, I have to meet Aurora at Hagrids!", Lily says with exasperation at the grey-eyed boy in front of her.

"Ah yes, as a matter of fact I was actually wondering if you could help me with something," Sirius says with a small smirk at the annoyed girl in front of him.

"No, no, no, whatever you want is nothing good and I do not want to help," Lily replies now more irritated at the shaggy-haired marauder in front of her.

"But there is information I need about a certain Ravenclaw friend of yours!", Sirius replies, now slightly desperate.

"If you are talking about Aurora, then there's even more reason to not help you. You've never taken any interest to her except to be cold and horrid to her, even though she has never done anything to you." Lily angrily raises her voice as she mentions his actions towards her best-friend.

"Yes, I understand that now and there are a few things that confuse me about her when I heard her talking to my unfortunate person of a cousin, Narcissa Black," Sirius says spitting out Narcissa's name with an expression like he had eaten something disgusting.

Rolling her eyes, Lily motioned to a stone seat causing the elder Black's face to light up. Setting down the books in her hands on her lap, Lily Evans stares at Sirius in a question glare.

"So... You know how I kind of accidentally heard some of Thorne's and Narcissa's conversation?", Sirius asks cautiously, but the red head glares at him part way through his sentence.

"It is Goldstein, Black! She hates her biological last name!", Lily says irritatedly, but nodding to his question.

"Sorry, Goldstein then... Well you see Narcissa had said something along the lines of 'I guess that is why you chose Ravenclaw and not Slytherin', and I wanted to know why she had used chose and not sorted...," after asking, he looks up at Lily, only now a frown had settled on her face.

"That's not for me to say." Sirius tries to protest only stopping as Lily puts up her hand in refusal.

"Is that all Black? Because I really am late and she'll wonder where I am."

"Ah no... see Narcissa also said something about Aurora helped the me and the boys—"

"The boys and I," Lily interrupts.

"What?", Sirius says, confused and slightly annoyed at being interrupted.

"It's The boys and I, not me and the boys, but continue."

"Well as I was saying before I was interrupted so rudely," Sirius then glares slightly at Lily, "Narcissa said something about Bla—Goldstein helping the boys and I with our pranks. What does she mean by that?"

Upon hearing this, Lily lets out a rather irritated and large sigh, "Well Black even against my own recommendation and annoyance, Aurora distracts the other prefects and myself when you and boys are out after hours on your little escapades or refrains them from telling the professors about the pranks, although 90% of the time the professors already have seen the pranks themselves," Lily says with great distain, pointedly looking at the Black boy, watching his face grow in bewilderment as she talked about her friends actions.

"Why would she do that?", Sirius ask Lily in such a confused manner that Lily almost laughed at the boys facial expression, but instead sighed.

"I don't know Black, I really don't know." Lily says as she gets up, stringing her bag on her shoulder.

"Now Black I will leave you to ponder this, goodbye."

Although Sirius did not really register the farewell from the red-head, no he was busy processing the information that James' dear Lily had given him and well that information did confuse him greatly.
