Evening! ❤
I got new motivation to write this book and all of it cos of you! So this is the chapter for you, thank you 😊. Enjoy ^.^
————————————————(Delirious POV)
I knew he wanted to trust me as before, but something, most likely the incident with the phone, forced him to escort me directly into my new work. And even though it passed a few days after they hired me, he was still cautious.I didn't blamed him. I was angry mostly at myself, how I could fuck up what we had together, and I also knew I could work on our relationship again. All I needed was some time.
"You're going be to register. Do you remember what I've taught you?" My manager asked me, and I felt excited to try it myself.
"Yeah."
I walked behind the cash register, already smiling. I greeted my co-workers with a good mood. Working here wasn't that bad, as I firstly imagined. We had a few annoying customers, that's true, but I was so lucky to be part of the greatest team. Everybody was patient, kind to me. They welcomed me immediately, they didn't judge me.
My manager left me alone with Lui, my new friend and a man, who was teaching me basic things. I liked his childish attitude and the fact that he could imitated a small child's voice perfectly.
"Don't worry, man. You're gonna be golden," Lui patted my back with a grin, returning to his barista position.
I took a deep breath, checking the time on the monitor in front of me. After a few hours of talking with a few customers, I wasn't feeling tired at all. I welcomed the human contact, and even though Lui was silently complaining about some of their behaving, I was still smiling.
"Customer," Lui whispered to me, and I quickly moved myself to my place.
"Hello. What can I get you?" I asked, looking at whoever walked in.
Oh, shit!
"Jonathan? What are you doing here?" Sydney asked me confused.
"I'm working here. What can I get you?" I repeated myself, hoping she would go away.
"Wait, what? You have two works now?"
"No, I have only this job," I replied.
"What? You quit?" She kept asking questions.
I looked around me, shrugging my shoulders. I wished we had more customers, so I could have send her away. But she was the only one waiting in line.
"He fired me. So what do you want?" I asked her, trying to keep my polite expression.
"Evan? Evan fired you? Why? When? What happened? Wasn't it like five days ago?"
"I honestly don't know, but I would love to hear your order," I said, hoping it didn't sound too much hard.
"Ok. I would like venti skinny latte with sugar free vanilla," she said, and I could tell she was still thinking about all those questions.
I wrote everything on the cup, drawing a few hearts around her name. After that I send the cup to Lui. I took a deep breath to tell her the price, but she was already handing me a ten bucks.
"Keep the change. I'm really sorry, Jonathan. I really like you, and honestly I thought Evan liked you too. I mean, he rarely accept new people into his company, so I assumed you already won," she said, and I could hear how sorry she was.
"No, Sydney, that's really ok. I'm fine, I don't cry over that job. It was fun, true, but I'm glad to expand my opportunities."
"Fine. What do you say? Me and you, a date tonight," she offered with a smile.
