(Vanoss POV)
It was just a pure panic. He caught me off guard with the simplest question, and I was so afraid to say aloud that I wished to take him on a proper date. I was too much afraid of an answer, of his reaction, because this was just a temporary phase. He was going to be back in his old self, I was working on it, and meanwhile I had to stay back.

"I see him," Jonathan whispered, pointing at Tyler.

My employee was standing there, dressed up elegantly and smoothly, looking much more better than me.

This is not a date, Evan.

I parked the car, getting off. Tyler looked surprised to see me, more shocked than seeing Jonathan. We both walked towards him.

"Hi," I greeted him, looking around for any signs of Craig's presence.

"Hey. What are you doing here? You said Jonathan was going to be the third wheel," Tyler said, looking at me.

"I know, but..."

I didn't finished my sentence, my brain working on 110% to think the best answer for that.

Because I wanted to be with him? Because the idea of him being here alone was killing me? Because I feel he deserve to be treated a lot better than has been.

"I insisted. Where's Craig?" Jonathan finished my sentence, helping me out of the situation.

"Since when is Evan listening to you? And since when you two became close friends?" Tyler raised one of his eyebrows, looking from me to Jonathan.

"Hello."

A new voice, Craig's voice, saved us. I saw Tyler scratching back of his head, nervously looking away.

"I'm glad you're the man of your words, mister Fong. Now, if you excuse us, we have important things to do," he said, dragging Tyler in.

"Shall we?" I asked, looking at Jonathan.

"I guess," he replied in whisper, uncertain.

I offered him my arm, which he gladly took, out arms tangled into one another. I led him in, feeling nervousness building up. I knew this wasn't true date, but it felt like one.

We were led to one table in the corner of the room, having a privacy I was seeking, but also with great view on Tyler and Craig. I needed to remind myself that we were here mainly for Tyler.

"Hello, my name's Marcel. I'm gonna be your waiter for this night. Here are your menu boards, take your time," the waiter told us, putting down the menu boards, before walking away.

As Jonathan was reading through the meal, I took time to admire his features. His blue eyes, in which was reflecting so much emotion when he wanted. His cherry lips, so tasteful and kissable. His hair, always a bit messy how he didn't care about it looks.

"Aren't you suppose to watch Tyler instead of me?" I heard his voice, right before I met his gaze.

Busted. Fuck!

"I wasn't looking at you. You're just in the way, so it might have looked I was watching you. But I wasn't," I assured him quickly, my hands sweating.
