2: Ready, Set, Go

I wake to being poked in the cheek. I snap up. Tommy was jumping on my bed and Alex was poking me. "Hey you bugger!" I smile. I grab Tom by the waist pulling him down. He bursts into a fit of giggles. Alex jumps up. "Are you ok after last night?"

"Yeah, I'm good." Alex nods. "I know I'm gonna see daddy soon."

"That's good." I tell her. "Who wants to go eat some breakfast?"

"ME!" Tommy and Alex scream.

"Well, come on then." I reply standing up. We go downstairs. I put them at the table as I make their toast.

"What day are we going to see daddy?" Tommy asks.

"Friday." I answer.

"That's so far away." They whine in unison.

"I'm sorry munchkins, but that is when daddy is doing a concert." I respond. "Don't worry. These next few days are just gonna fly by."

"Really?" Alex asks.

"Of course!" I say.

"When is Aunt Melanie coming?" Tommy asks.

"I don't know, she'll be here soon though." I give them their food.

"WE'RE GOING TO THE PARK AFTER YOU FINISH EATING!" Melanie screams walking in the door.

"Yay!" The twins cheer. I shove a two full pieces of toast in my mouth.

"I swear, you eat exactly like Louis." Melanie shakes her head.

"The student becomes the master." I smirk, thinking back to when Louis got me to believe it was ok to eat in front of him.

"Go take a shower, I'll take care of the twins." Melanie offers.

"Really?" I scrunch my nose up.

"Yeah." Melanie nods, giving me a smile.

"K. I'll be back in about twenty minutes." I shrug. I decide to go for the downstairs shower. That way I could hear if anyone was dying. 

*Melanie's POV*

"Come here." I wave the twins over.

"What?" They ask at the same time bouncing over to me.

"Press your ear up to the door and be quiet." I direct them. They do.

Throw my hand on a blade for ya. I'd jump in front of a train for ya." Juliet belts out the lyrics perfectly. I could hear her voice cracking with each line. She was crying again. *Juliet's POV*

Melanie and I were watching Tommy and Alex play with their friends at the park. "What's wrong Jules?" Melanie asks furrowing her eyebrows together. I look down propping my head up with my hand. 

"I don't know what to do Mel. My babies are getting older but they aren't old enough to understand that their dad is in love with a girl other than me. They think he has just been on a business trip and he can't talk because he is busy. I don't have the heart to tell them their own father won't be living with us." I explain.

"How can you tell he won't?" Melanie asks.

"He is in a very committed relationship with Eleanor. Compare me to her Melanie." I say. I laugh bitterly. "Like he would chose me over her."

"Think about it. You were one of his first loves. He loves kids and he loves you. Y-"

"He doesn't love me!" I yell.

"How do you know? You haven't spoken to him in three freaking years!" Melanie yells. Eyes start drawing over to us.

"I just know! If he still loved me he would have called me and/or never gotten another girlfriend! It's logic! Would you just shut up about Louis and I getting back together?! It is obviously never going to happen!" I yell.

 "Our turn is next!" Tommy squeals jumping up and down in my arms. Melanie was holding Alex.

"Yeah." My shaky voice croaks.

"Calm down Jule." Melanie tells me.

"I can't help it." I murmur. "I'm crazy nervous. I feel like I'm going to throw up."

"This is Louis we are talking about." Melanie tries again.

"Yeah, and knowing Louis he will be mad I didn't tell him." I sigh.

"You should've told him before he left." Melanie says.

"Are you nuts?!" I almost yell. "If I told him it would have kept him from going to X Factor. One Direction might not even have existed if I told him I was pregnant. Think about the aftermath Mel."

"Oh. Yeah..." Melanie trails off.

"You're next." A security guard says walking up to us. I turn pale.

"Let's go!" Melanie squeaks. I slowly follow behind her as I start to sweat. I was shaking like crazy. 

It's been almost three years since Louis left for X Factor. Also almost three years since Tommy and Alex have been born. Yes, I had the chance to tell Louis before he changed his number and didn't give it to me but I just couldn't do it. My tongue gets tied, the words get trapped. (lyrics from I Wish :P ) Melanie arranged for us to go meet him again, but what is he going to say? How will he react when he knows he has two kids? Would he dump Eleanor to get back together with me? Or would I remain a single mum forever? As my heart pounds out of my chest the four of us walk into the door, ready to catch a glimpse of my whole future after that one day of camp.

Get ready...

Get set...

Go.
