By now I was panting and quite out of breath. I just reached the kingdom and am now rushing into the main throne room. And I barged through the large doors, Axarion and his closest advisor jerk their heads up in surprise, stopping their discussion.
"Aquema? What's wrong?" Axarion questioned concerned.
I opened my mouth to reply, but no words came out. The world was spinning around me, and i couldn't focus on what I had to do.
In an instant Axarion signaled for his advisor to leave, and swam up to me, catching me before I fell to the ground. He sat me down on a couch to the left. At least I think... My mind is still spinning from my over-exhausting swim. He laid my head back, and I didn't resist. I couldn't. Closing my eyes, I let myself relax, knowing if I didn't calm down I would pass out. And therefore delay the importance of my rush.
Within a few minutes my head stopped spinning and my heart rate was almost back to normal. I opened my eyes and slowly leaned up. My eyes were met with Axarion's worried ones.
"Axarion..." I breathed. The overwhelming situation is still keeping me sorta shocked.
"Yes? What's wrong Aquema?" He was getting more anxious as the time passed.
"While I was out... Visiting Kolfin... Something... It..." I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
Slowly, I began again. "Something, I don't know what it was, but it was horrid... Like nothing I've seen before. Well this.. Thing, attacked me. Kolfin saved me, and he told me to come back her right away and tell you about the thing... He seemed very nervous and worried.."
Axarion continued to look at me, not speaking. His eyes were now clouded with deep thoughts. In a few moments, which felt like hours, he finally spoke. "What did this... Thing look like?"
I shuddered slightly. "It was hideous. It had sightless eyes, torn skin, and it smelled like nothing I've ever smelt before. And it seemed like... Like it was dead... But it was alive..."
Axarion nodded slightly.
"You know what it is?" I asked cautiously.
He nodded again, taking a few moments before answering. "The dead lives... It was a Delomcios Aquema. A Delomcios." My eyes widened at this. I cannot believe that this I faced was the thing I have to destroy to save the city... An an alarming thought spun through me.
"Does this mean... The battle has started? Like, the attack? Are they invading the city right now!?" I rushed out, panicking.
Axarion shook his head. "No no. Don't worry. If they were attacking I would have a hundred mer's in here telling me they've seen Delomcios's. I have mer's posted all over in case of a encounter like you went through. That section is the one spot I haven't had a guard posted at. It was too far from the city out of my main focus. But I will post a guard there now. And this Delomcios today, it is a rare occasion where one has found a weak spot in the shield and is able to push it's way through. The shield is made to rebuild though. Once it is punctured, it immediately begins to rebuild itself. This will be to our advantage when the final battle comes. It will slow down the Delomcios, giving us more time to defeat the wave that makes it through before the shield can rebuild."
I relax more. This is much better than having them all attack now and at once for that matter. "Has this happened before, where one got in?"
"Yes. Three times before. All before you arrived here. I should of been expecting this, due to the extended time of silence."
"Oh okay."
