CHAPTER 6
Ivy's POV:
Ivy opened the door to the BC joint relieved she was on time for her shift. Somehow the idea of having the opportunity to be just a pinch reckless had made her forget all her responsibilities. 15 minutes before she was supposed to be washing plates she rushed to her room and put on the first jeans she found lying around and hurried out the door. She ran to the train station and arrived a minute before it left to the city. The place wasn't in its usual crammed state and being the angel that Billy is he might let her leave early so she could get home, sit in her comfy pajamas and watch the remaining episodes of the final season of teen wolf she had waited so long for.
"If you'd like Ivy you can leave early," Billy said walking into the back of the restaurant where Ivy was elbow deep in soapy water at half past 8. "The front's nearly empty so I think we'll close early tonight." Ivy smiled thanking God in her head that her boss was extremely thoughtful. "I'd like that; I'll just finish off these extra plates," She replied. A couple of minutes later Ivy sat on the bus stop bench. Down the street there was a club. Through its window walls you could see the amount of bodies pushed together on the dance floor with streams of different colored lights flashing to create an intoxicating mood. Ivy yearned to feel that rush and carelessness. Yet she was going home to eat popcorn on her couch and once again just watch others live their life. She looked through her handbag and found the flyer Tina had given her about the dance battle club. Would she really be able to go by herself? According to the address the club was just two blocks away. But what was she going to wear? She looked through the top of her baggy BC joint shirt at her singlet. Black pants a white singlet and black converse was all she had but that's nothing loose hair couldn't fix. The many stories in movies and books had taught her a few things about socializing though she didn't know if they really happened in real life so she would just have to experiment tonight. And that's what she was going to do. She was going to walk into that club and be as confident as possible with her pale arms put on show.
She took her hair out of the plat it was in and let in fall down to her elbows. She never let her blonde tipped light brown hair out in public because she thought it brought too much attention but she didn't really have much of a choice right now otherwise she would look like she was going to a skate park rather than a night club. She ran back to the Joint that was just down the road rushed through the door moments before Billy locked up. He looked at her suspiciously but she told him she needed to leave her shirt in her locker because she wasn't sleeping at her house tonight. Billy didn't ask any further questions since it didn't bother him and Ivy started her stride to the club. It'll be dark, the dancing would be really cool, and no one is going to notice you so you'll have fun for once! Ivy kept thinking positively until she set eyes on the large structure that was one building away from her.
Harry's POV:
"Go, go, go go wooooooooooo!" The loud screams that came from the picturesque scene in front of Harry left him in awe. He could feel the vibe from his seat in the black car across the road. The glass doors provided a sneak peek at the stamina that the dancers inside were giving off. He had wondered around the city looking for a place exactly like this. A place he'd never seen anything like. He'd never heard of it before and was hoping the people inside had never heard of him before. Even though he knew that was close to impossible he just had to go inside. It would definitely take his mind off the disappointment.
He opened his car door made sure his hat was on and his head was low and walked up to the stone building. There was a built black haired guard standing straight at the door and a group of five people waiting to get in. He blended in. The guard looked them over, smiled and opened the glass door. The loud screams of excitement came rushing out. The group jogged in clapping their hands-obviously regulars-while he walked behind through a short corridor with two black walls and a guard waiting at the end. Then he stepped into the madness. There were black metal stairs that lead down to the dance floor in the middle where people moved perfectly to the beat of the music. The dancers were wearing masks, he had no idea why but while looking around he spotted a sign with his eye that read FORTNIGHTLY MASSCARADE; who ever had come up with that idea was a genius. The dance floor was booming with color- and noise of chorus. On the floor he stood on people sat on tables talking and watching the swirl of bodies below. The DJ was on the other end of the room opposite the dance floor. The ceiling rose really high above the dancers and showered them with lights flashing to the beat.
