The rest of that day I was looking around during class to try and find out who it was who liked me. I was pretty sure it wasn't any of Jacob's friends but I decided to check the next day at lunch.
As usual I was the third person at the oak tree. Jacob and Kyle were already there.
"Hey Cat! We thought that Aron, kyle, you and some of your friends could go downtown and see a movie this Saturday." Jacob suggested.
"Sure. I'd have to ask Lily, Sarah, and Luna since they were planning to come over that day." I said blushing slightly. A silence settled over our little lunch spot.
"Geese guys. Why so quiet?" Sarah said sitting down next to me. My blush returned realizing I was staring at Jacob. Fought down the blush realizing that Jacob and Aron were staring at me.
"So, Sarah. We were talking about going to the movies with you, lily, Luna, and some of Jacob's friends. What do you think?" I said hoping she would say yes. I didn't want to admit it then but I actually just wanted to spend time with Jacob. Sarah confused by my pleading eyes realized why I wanted to go so much and smugly agreed.
Later lily and Luna came and happily agreed to go. I was so relieved. A couple of the classes after that though I was still looking for the person that Lily had said liked me. Scanning the classroom the only person who I caught staring at me once was Aron. I was pretty sure that it wasn't him but I wanted to make absolutely sure.
On Saturday my friends arrived and I decided we should play truth or dare it pass the time until the movie. Worst mistake ever. In our game if you feel so uncomfortable to decline a truth you have to do an even worse dare, and the only ways to decline a dare is If the guardian of the house says you cannot, if you don't have the materials, or if it's bad for your health.
Anyway so when it was my turn unfortunately Sarah was going to give me my truth or dare and the one thing she always asked about was a dangerous topic at least for me, love, and she knows it.
"Sooo, truth or dare." She said smiling like a barracuda. Knowing I would either have to do a terrible dare or answer the topic I hate I chose truth. So I chose truth and that was the worst mistake of my life.
"Sooo..." Sarah said smirking, "I noticed that you're hiding something. So answer be this, why were you so eager to go to the movies with Jacob, Aron, and Kyle?"she asked hopefully.
"I-i-i....."caught off guard I stuttered.
Crap. I didn't know it was that obvious! I thought.
Sarah was cunning but most of all smart she knew when and how to get the information that she wanted.
I just sat there with my mouth hanging open like an idiot.
"Come on you know the rules." She prodded.
"Do-do you promise not to tell anyone?" I asked looking at my lap embarrassed.
"Ok.... soo.... spill the beans!" Sarah said her curiosity sparked.
"Well... I mean... I kind of haveacrushonJacob." The words rushed out of my mouth so fast that I didn't even have time to think. I timidly looked upwards at the astonished faces of Luna and Sarah. Lily was sitting next to me in the circle doing what ever she could to avoid eye contact with the others.
"So! I was right!" Sarah exclaimed covering her mouth with her hands.
"I-i had no idea." Luna managed to stutter out.
"Did you know something about this Lily?" Sarah asked noticing lily's desperate attempt to avoid eye contact.
"Ummm..... yeah." Lily said forcing a nerviously laugh.
"Please don't tell anyone." I begged. I knew from my last school that if you tell one person and don't say to not tell anyone then the person who it's supposed to be kept from will know about it in a little under a week. Then I realized that it was my turn and that was the perfect opportunity to find out what I wanted to know from Lily.
