I sat on my couch flipping through the channels trying to find something good to watch, when a news broadcast flashed up on the screen. The news reporter stated that two ghouls nicknamed the rabbit and eyepatch killed a well known agent. When Kaneki's nickname appeared on screen my heart dropped.

This isn't good, at least he had his mask on but still this is bad.

I went to get my phone to text Kaneki, but I saw he already texted me.

Did you see the news report?

I could practically feel how nervous he was.

Yeah I did, you ok?

I waited for him to reply.

Yeah I'm fine

He texted back. I could tell he was lying. I tapped out a message.

I'm coming over to Anteiku

I hesitated thinking whether or not I should send it, I tapped send. There was no point in trying to change my mind. I turn off the tv and put my hoodie on and left.

I ran to Anteiku, I needed to get there fast. I need to protect Kaneki, even if it's not much I can still try. Before I entered I saw a ccg agent walking my way. I quickly entered, luckily Kaneki was just finishing his shift.

"Get your mask we need to go now!" Kaneki hesitated but went to get it. Kaneki came back and put it on. I grabbed his hand and we both ran outside. We barely got out in time.

As soon as we left the agent was about to enter. Our eyes met and then the chase began.

"Where are we going?" Kaneki asked. I didn't know, I was so focused on getting away I didn't think about where we would hide.

We were able to hide in an alley. Then I began to think, this is just like my dream then that means....

As soon as I had finished that thought he had found us and was aiming a gun at Kaneki.

No, it can't end like this.

He pulled the trigger and I found myself in front of him, I fell to the ground. For a minute it felt like my life was flashing before my eyes. If I die, please let Kaneki be safe. But I was alive, I looked down at my bleeding leg. Kaneki dropped down to me.

"Are you okay?, I'll go and get help."
I pulled him into a hug.

"I'll be fine just get out of here."

"No, I can't just leave you here"

"Please, just go I don't want to lose you, I promise everything will be okay" Kaneki broke away from the hug and ran off. The ccg agent completely ignored him and turned to face me.
