A part of me {Kaneki x OC}

Rescue

Kaneki carried me back to Anteiku. Touka was inside stocking the shelves behind her.

"Welcome to an-" she stopped when she saw me.

"What happened to Akemi?" Touka asked quickly walking over to Kaneki. Touka smacked Kaneki across the face.

"What did you do?" Touka half yelled.

"It's not....his fault." I said my vision fading in and out from blood loss.

"I'll take her upstairs, go find the first aid kit." Kaneki told Touka. Kaneki laid me down on the couch in the same room we went in before. Touka brought in the first aid kit and set it on the table. She looked at me sympathetically before leaving the room.

                       [Touka POV]

I stepped outside to clear my head. I had an idea of how Kaneki was feeling. Years ago I was in the same position he was.

Flashback

I ran as fast as I could. A ccg agent was following me as I walked home. Thinking quickly I hid in an alley. I watched him run by thinking I ran somewhere up the street. I sighed as I sat down against the wall.

I was starting to get tired of constantly running away, why couldn't I just fight?
I knew it wasn't a good idea to do so, because if I did it would only make it harder to stay hidden in the shadows.

I heard a faint scream coming from across the street. I looked to see a friend from school being killed by a ghoul. Even though we weren't all that close I still felt sad. I felt like i lost someone I was just starting to get to know.

The next day Yoriko told me that her cousin was killed yesterday. I comforted her as best as I could. I didn't want her to suffer emotionally.

End of flashback

                       [Akemi POV]

Kaneki opened the first aid kit and took out the gauze. He gently wrapped it around the wound on my neck then the one on my leg.

"Hey Kaneki.....thanks for saving me back there." I gave him a small smile.

"If you didn't get there in time......" I shook my head at the thought of what could have happened. I could feel my eyelids getting heavier. Kaneki put his hand on my shoulder.

"Rest, you need it." I nodded and slowly drifted off to sleep.
