A/N: This chapter is Veronica's point of view which is why it says v.l in the title for Veronica Lodge. Also in advance, I did not correct spelling grammars.

I watched in fury as Betty stormed out of the classroom with a tears of both anger and sadness streaming down her cheeks. She was always very sensitive when it came to Polly.

"Wait!" I call out but by the time I did she was gone. I look at Cheryl and my annoyance and anger was perfectly etched on my face. I stood up from my desk and walked towards her.

"This better be the last time you try hurting Betty. And trust me, if you try to again despite this warning, things will not end up pretty," My voice was gravelly and dangerous.

Cheryl remained silent with a smug look on her face as if she's proud to have obtained this reaction from Betty and I.

All to be heard through the vacant hallways were my heels making multiple clicking noises as it made contact with the floor tiles. There was no sign of the blonde-haired girl anywhere until I noticed (what seemed to be from this angle) two pairs of feet poking out the side of a locker.

"Betty! Don't worry about that red headed she-devil I put her in her place and — woah..." I took a brief pause from my sentence. I thought my eyes deceived me. It seemed as if Betty and Jughead were going to...kiss?

Jughead coughs due to the awkward tension between us all. "See you later," he said in a barely audible voice before disappearing down the halls. As he does so, my eyes follow him then I look at Betty with widened eyes.

During our walk home, she explained the situation knowing i'd demand an answer if she didn't.

"So, do you like him now?" I asked, a part of me secretly relief she's slowly moving on from the thought of being with Archie.

"I...I don't know. Archie, he's hard to move on from," her voice cracked the same way my heart did.

The walk was completely silent. Usually, we'd always chat about girl related things but right now, we're were both consumed with sorting out our feelings and thoughts.

Arriving to my apartment I notice my mother sitting at the couch as if she'd been waiting for me to arrive. I could tell when my mom has something to tell me that won't satisfy me and today is one of those days. Her face was drenched in both guilt and worry.

"Ver—," before she could even properly begin her sentence I finished it off.

"Need to talk?"

She nodded her head and patted for me to take a seat. My palms were sweaty and I mentally prepared myself for whatever it was she needed to say.

"She's coming home. Vanessa."

At that instant, with just hearing that name, my heart sank down to my toes and I was running out of breath as if I ran a mile.

"Why? She can't come back! She's trouble, mom! You know what she did to me and our whole family," I exclaimed, inhaling and exhaling at a very quick pace.

And that was all I remembered before everything became nothing but black.

I wake up in my bed with my mom sitting beside me. Everything that had happened these past 24 hours begin to sink in and I immediately scream in fury.

"Veronica! Security will think you're in danger. Stop that," she scolded placing her manicured finger in front of my lips.

I banged continuously on my bed since yelling at the top of my lungs was no longer an alternative.

"Vanessa promised she changed. At first I was hesitant on allowing her to return, but she's my daughter too, Veronica. I can't just have her as the family outcast, especially now that your father is in prison."

"She practically caused us our lives, needless to say she robbed thousands of dollars from daddy, and you're still okay with her? Does this not ring a bell to you?"

She shuffled in her chair uncomfortably. It was crystal clear that Vanessa's damage was permanently casted in my mother's head. So why this sudden decision.

"You know what? It's either me or her. You make your choice by the end of the night. And don't worry about me because the Cooper's will gladly take me in," I stood up from bed and stormed out of the room.

Just the fact that she has the audacity to allow someone who almost put absolutely everything at risk makes me question if being on her side instead of the Blossom's or Cooper's was the right choice.

Right now, if she's really concentrated on bringing Vanessa back, the best I could do is leave for a while.

After my long walk (in attempts to avoid confrontation with mom), I arrive home and swiftly past her as she reads one of her magazines. It was almost midnight which was when I was ready to head to Betty's. I already texted her everything and she was accepting with open arms. She told me her mother was fine as long as I didn't make a mess or interject in any of their chats.

Finally, it was time. I peaked my head out the door and the lights were officially off and my mom was off to sleep. With my suitcase at hand, I carefully make my way to the front door, cautious of each and every step. I tried the best I could to quietly close the front door but it was inevitable because that damn door always makes a pretty loud sound.

"Joseph," I tapped on the staff door where they each have their own separate place to settle down and rest.

"Ms. Lodge? What are you doing at this time? We're all done for the night," he explained in his thick British accent.

"Could you please drive me to this address, please."

I'm so SHOOK that this book is at 900. It's grown a lot compared to the last time i've checked. Thank you so so so so much!! Also thanks for the people who've commented feedback. It warms my heart.
