He flumped heavily onto the park bench, letting out a tired sigh. He saw her again today. Her. His ex-girlfriend, Jamie. It hurt him, seeing her living her life happily. He wanted to be apart of that happiness. His eyes stung with hot tears. He regretted nothing, didn't he?
"Are you okay?" A voice asked, startling him. He didn't notice Jamie beside him. Her. What was she doing here? He didn't want to be around her. The boy shifted towards the edge of the bench, uncomfortable. What made her want to be here now?
He nodded, waving a hand dismissively. "I'm fine. Just a bit tired, you know?" He muttered. She responded with a nod. Just leave me alone, he wanted to tell her. But he couldn't.
"You have bags under your eyes," she stated, pointing a finger just above his cheek. He wanted so badly to push her hand away and to end this conversation, to leave Jamie. Just like she left him.
"I can't fall asleep because when I close my eyes, all I see is you," He stated sadly, then went on his way. He felt relieved.
