She silently walked up to the park bench, knowing that she was the first one to arrive, but he was already there. She suppressed a smile, keeping her blank expression and walked up to the boy. "I see you're already here," she told him as a sort of greeting. She didn't know what else to say. A simple 'hey' was a bit casual and she'd grown to be comfortable around him.
He looked up, gave her a smile, and looked away. "Yes, I try not to be late, I enjoy talking to you," he replied. Her stomach did a small flip. She ignored it and returned his smile.
She sat and the two talked for hours as the bright moon shone above them. She enjoyed this, times like these. Every night she'd sneak out and come to the park, just to talk to him. She'd never done this for any boy before, she didn't want to go through all of this and end up heartbroken. She didn't want to love.
But alas, she did.
I'm sorry but I fell in love tonight, she thought to herself.
