Stronger Together

Twenty-eight: Todoroki versus Midoriya

 As soon as Eijirou is announced the winner, I go down to meet him. "Eijirou!" I wave to him. "You made it!" He runs up to me with a grin. When he meets me, I wrap my arms around him.

"Looks like we both made it, huh?" He chuckles.

"Yep, but if we wanna make it back in time for Izuku and Todoroki's fight, we'd better hurry," I say.

"You're right. Come on." Eijirou grabs my hand and jogs back toward our group. When we get there, there was already ice scattered everywhere and Izuku seemed to have two broken fingers. "Ah man, it's already started!" Eijirou says as we sit with our class.

"Good job making it to the second round Kirishima!" Denki says with a grin.

"Yep, you're next Bakugou!" Eijirou says with a determined look.

"I'm gonna beat you to death," Bakugou says without even turning away from the fight.

"Haha! I'd like to see you try!" Eijirou says a bit less confidently. "Anyway... you, Hakai, and Todoroki can send out a whole bunch of really strong attacks rapid-fire without breaking a sweat, huh?" I look at him slightly confused about why he's bringing that up.

"We don't just shoot them rapid-fire, you know," Bakugou says and Hakai nods.

"He's right. If you over-exert your muscles fibers wear down, and if you run too much you'll run out of breath." I huff and nod at Hakai's words. 'She's too right.' "Quirks are just physical functions."

"Yeah, I figured the best way to get around that was to have my costume amplify my explosions," Bakugou adds.

   "Todoroki is closing in without even flinching at Midoriya's power!" Present Mic keeps his role of announcer going strong. Suddenly there was a large gust of wind.

   "Did Midoriya just use his whole arm?!" Momo asks shooting up out of her seat. Everyone thought that Tororoki had already won until Midoriya used his broken hand for an attack.

   "GET OVER HERE AND FIGHT ME!" Midoriya shouts. I'm not sure why he sounds so angry. The two of them continue attacking each other with what seems to be endless power until Todoroki begins to slow down.

   "Todoroki moves are really starting to lag..." Hakai mumbles.

   "His body must be forming frost," Bakugou adds.

   "So that's his upper limit," Hakai finishes. 'Wow, what a team. They even finish each other's statements.'

   "Since when do these two so casually agree?!" Mineta shrieks.

   "Since they realized they love each other." Eijirou teases casually. I snort and elbowed him gently.

   "Shut it, Kirishima!" They shout together with pink cheeks.

   "Woah! Midoriya connected a direct smash to Todoroki's abdomen!" I focus back on the fight and watch as Todoroki manages to stay in the ring. When he stands up straight again, I notice his breath is misty. 'Is he overusing his ice side? Is that why his breath is like frost?' Midoriya continued to scream different things at Todoroki, most of them I can't make out or understand completely. Suddenly there's a blast of heat and a sudden ball of fire erupted in the center of the arena. When the dust settled, you could clearly see that the left side of Todoroki's body was completely engulfed in flames. 'Oh my god! He's using his flames!'

   "He really used his flames!" Hakai shouts, bursting up from her seat.

   "Shouto! So you've finally accepted yourself, have you?! Good! Excellent! Now, this is your true beginning! You who holds my blood surpass me, and realize my ambition in yourself!" Endeavor yells loudly over all the crowds' cheering.

   "And Mr. Endeavor with a very sudden pep talk? Must be quite the doting dad!" Present Mic announces. Their fight is kind of starting to worry me. They both look so serious about winning and Midoriya's hand doesn't look good at all...

   "This is it. The two of them are really about to go all out." Hakai states sitting back down.

   "But are we sure they'll be okay?!" I ask worriedly. I get no answer as the two of them rush at each other once more, but this time Cementos and Midnight jump in trying to stop the two of them from killing each other. There's a loud boom and a loud explosion that causes a wall of smoke to block out view. When the dust settles, everyone is itching to see what had happened.

"What was that... what the hell is your homeroom class, dude?!" Present Mic asks Mr. Aizawa. "Midoriya is out of bounds...Todoroki advances to the third round!" With this announcement, the crowd erupts in cheers. Midoriya was instantly picked up and rushed to Recovery Girl to be healed.

"Hey, we're gonna go check on Deku, do you guys wanna come?" Ochako asks with stay and Iida standing with her.

"No thanks, I don't want to make the crowd too big. You guys go ahead," Hakai answers with me and Eijirou nodding in agreement. The small group nods before rushing off to check on their friend. "Well, I guess I'm next. I'll go get ready," Hakai says standing from her seat.

"Good luck, Hakai!" I shout with a grin. She smiles with a wave before running off to ready herself. Up next, my best friend versus Iida. Let's go Hakai!
