"Put these on and head outside."

After introducing myself to Hakai, our new teacher, Mr. Aizawa had come in and told us to change into the Yuuei gym uniforms.
"What do you think this is about?" I asked Hakai.
"Not sure. Whatever this is, it better be quick. Freshman orientation starts in ten minutes." She replies. I hum in response and stand from my desk to change. Once we were in the changing room, all the girls gave a quick introduction as to their names while we changed clothes. One girl named Asui was a frog mutation which was pretty cool. She was like me, but a frog instead of a snake.

Afterwards, Hakai and I headed out together, but separated after getting into the class crowd. I walked toward Kirishima and was greeted with a wave.
"Hey Hanzo!" He said waving me over.
"Hey! I'm not big on going by my last name, so just call me Taya." I said with a smile.
"Sure. I guess if it's gonna be that way, you can just call me Eijirou." He replied.
"Sure thing! Anyway, do you know what this is for?" Eijirou hummed in thought briefly. "Hmm, I dunno really, but I thing Mr. Aizawa should tell us when he gets here." He said. Nodding, I looked toward the school yard to see Mr. Aizawa walking from around the corner.

'Speak of the devil and he'll appear.'

"Alright, let's get to it. We're having a quirk assessment test." Mr. Aizawa says bluntly.

"What?! A quirk assessment test?!"
"What? But orientation! We're gonna miss it!" Uraraka said.
"If you really want to make the big leagues you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies." Mr. Aizawa said with his back to us. "Here at UA were not tethered to tradition. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit. You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal without letting the ones with most power Excel. It's not rational. One day The Ministry of education will learn. Bakugou, you managed to get the most points in the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball in junior high?"
Everyone's eyes shifted to the blond in the front standing next to Hakai.
'So that's his name.'

"Sixty seven meters I think." He answered.
"Right. Try doing it with your quirk. Anything goes, just stay in the circle. Go on, you're wasting our time." Aizawa said.
"Alright man, you asked for it." Bakugou said stretching his arm. His expression never changes. He threw his arm back and launched the ball into the air with an explosion.
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities." Aizawa said looking at his phone. It made a small beep before he turned to us. "It's the most rational way of figuring out you potential as a pro hero." He showed us the phone which had his throw distance on it.

"Woah! 705 meters?!"
"That looks like fun! I wanna try!" Mina says excitedly.
"Wow! Getting to use our quirks as much as we want? That's awesome!" A guy next to me yells.
"So you think this is fun, huh? You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and playtime? Idiots. Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately."
"What?!" I ask in shock. Everyone around me seems to be surprised to. Can he even do that?
"Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs. Understand?" Aizawa asks. "If that's a problem you can head home right now."

'Shit! This isn't going to end well.'

"You can't send one of us home! I mean, we just got here! Even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair!" Uraraka says to the teacher.
"Oh, and you think natural disasters are? Or power hungry villains? Hmm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No. The world is full of unfairness. It's a Hero's job to try to combat that unfairness. If you wanna be a pro you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible thing after another at you. So go beyond Plus Ultra style. Show me it's no mistake that you're here." He says waving a finger at us. I glance around to see everyone looking at him with a determined look on their faces.

'I've got to prove that this is what I'm meant to do.'

"Now then, we're just wasting time by talking. Let the games begin." Aizawa says.
