Two: New Friends

"Sweetie? Are you sure you're ready for this?" My mom asked holding out my back pack. I nodded with a smile and reached out for my bag.
"I'm sure, mom. You of all people should know this is what I've wanted to do for a while." I said.
"Yes I know that, but I meant are you ready for homeroom, because I've heard your teacher may be tough." She said tapping my nose with her finger. I laughed at her and swatted her hand away. "Yes mom. I'll be fine. Now I gotta hurry so I get there early enough." I slid my bag over my shoulders and put my hand on the doorknob.
"Bye Sweetie, I love you! Have fun!" My mom said.
"Love you Momma! See you later!" I said opening, and walking out the door.

After making my way into the school, I wandered around the halls until I found class 1-A. I walked inside to see a few students scattered around the room. I glanced up at the board and noticed a seating chart taped onto it. I found where I was supposed to sit and took my seat next to a spiky, redheaded boy. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him glance over at me, but I continued to look toward the front to observe the students that were here so far.

"Woah! That's awesome!" The boy next to me shouts. I jumped slightly and turned to him to see what he was talking about. He was still staring at my face.

"What is?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. He sat in silence for a brief second before pointing to my face.

"That!" He said with a big smile. I tilted my head in confusion before realizing he was talking about my tongue.

"Oh! That? It's just an involuntary thing. Sometimes I have no control of it." I explain.

"It's still pretty cool." He said moving his hand from a pointing finger to a thumb, pointing it at himself.

"It's Eijirou Kirishima. Nice to meet ya!" He said.

"Taya Hanzo." I responded. "If you were wondering, my tongue does that because my quirk is Snake." I explained.

"Oh okay. So, you can do things snakes can?" Kirishima asked.

"Yep. Except, I can't really wrap myself around things like a snake. I'm still human."

"Cool!"

I smiled before looking around the classroom and watching a blond haired boy stomp into the room, take his seat, and plop his feet up on the desk top, crossing his arms afterward.
'Grumpy much?'

Another boy with dark hair and glasses then walks inside and up to the blond boy and he seemed pretty upset.
"Get your feet off that desk!" He shouted at him. The blond cracked and eye open with a smirk. "Hah?"
"It's the first day and you're already disrespecting the academy by scuffing school property, you Cretin!" He crosses his arms with a frown.

"You're kidding me right? Did your old school put a stick up your ass, or were you born with it?" The blond responds, not moving his feet.

I look to the doorway and noticed a girl standing there watching the two boys argue.
"Let's start over. I'm Tenya Iida from Somei private academy." The dark haired one said holding his hand out.
"Somei huh?!" The blond said as if he realized something. "You must think you're better than me! I'm going to have fun tearing you a new one!" He yells. I look back over at the girl and notice a shorter, green haired boy standing behind her, and he looked as if he were about to fall over. She glanced at the board to see the seating chart before turning back to face the seats.

'Wait a second..that's the girl from the practical exams. I guess she made it in too.'

"There," she says with a sigh before making her way toward me and taking the seat in front of me and right next to the loud mouth.

"You would threaten me?! Your own classmate?" Iida asked shocked at the blond boy. I sighed and sat my chin on my fist and watched as Iida speed-walked over to the green haired boy and reintroduced himself.

Glancing back to the blond kid, who had finally quieted down, I noticed he was looking around the room before he puffed out his chest and said, "So, I got first place on the entrance exam." He boasted.
Kirishima then stood from his seat and leaned over my desk toward the blond, his hand right in the middle of the desk.
"Woah that's awesome! I got second place!" He said happily.
I had to jump back quickly or he would've accidentally hit me. I leaned back in my seat so I wouldn't get in the way of their conversation, which only lasted a few seconds.

The blond seemed happy for a brief moment, but when the girl in front of me didn't give a response, he got a bit upset.
"Hey. Hey you!" He shouts at her. When he still got no response, he slammed the book she was reading down on the desk. She sighed and looked up, taking out her ear buds.

"You can't just ignore me like that! Who the hell do you think you are?!" He shouts standing over her. She glances around to assure herself it was her he was talking to.
"I'm sorry?" She asked. I laughed under my breath as he sat back down and sighed.
"Do that again and your book is toast." He muttered. Kirishima sat back down with a chuckle.
"Yeah, sure.." She mumbles before reopening her book.

'This class is already interesting and I've only "met" three people. I wonder what kind of quirks they have...other than the girl in front of me, I haven't seen any of them yet.. Heck, I don't even know their names other than Kirishima...'

I notice the blond kid look over at the girl in front of me a few times before leaning to read over her shoulder. I see her glance over her shoulder to see him. "Can I help you?" She asked turning the page. The boy sits back quickly and crosses his arms. "Tch, no! Don't be stupid." He said with closed eyes and a scowl.

'Ooh, maybe since she's not reading anymore, I can introduce myself.' I leaned forward and tapped on her shoulder a few times and waited for her to turn around. I saw her shoulders slouch slightly before she turned and looked me in the eyes. She looked over my face before smiling. "Hey! You're the snake girl from the exams!" She said happily.
"Yeah, how'd you remember?" I asked smiling back.
"Your tongue. It kinda stuck out to me when I saw you fight." She explained. I sighed softly.
"What is it with my tongue? Two people so far thinks it's cool." I said turning to Kirishima, who smiled. I turned back to the girl in front of me before coming up with a thought. I look over at the blond kid before making eye contact and sticking my tongue out. His face turned to a weird frown. "Ew, put that back in your mouth, you freak." I shrugged before turning back to the girl.

"Oh, I'm Taya Hanzo by the way." I said holding out my hand.
She took my hand with a smile. "Hakai Odayaka. Nice to meet you."

I have a feeling that this year will be great.
