Hey guys,  I am so sorry I haven't updated in like ages. I have been moving out of home and my boyfriend moving interstate that I have been so distracted and I completely forgot about my story. I feel horrible so I am going to try give you heaps of chapters to make up for it! A lot of research went into this one to try make it as real as I could, I hope you enjoy it. We were sitting at the cafe when dad rang me and told me he was waiting in the car outside. My body suddenly shook with nerves, I wasn't ready. I wish I could just rip out this tube from my nose and sprint as far as I could. Joshua put his hand on my shoulder and helped me out the door. He looked nervous as well. Dad waved us over as he got out of the car and opened up the door on the passenger side, Joshua smiled at him and helped me into the car.

"I'm assuming you are the boy that my dear Emma has been talking about" Joshua smiled widely and laughed in my direction.

"I assume so, I'm Josh" He put his hand out to shake my father's hand.

"Nice to meet you Josh, me names Neville" Joshua smiled and looked at me, I think meeting a girl's dad is always nerve wracking for a guy. Even if they're just friends. Dad and Joshua got in the car and we left for the hospital. It was an hour and a half trip. I slept most of the way. Joshua and my father spoke about every thing under the sun. Joshua told me Dad gave him the father talk about protecting his daughter. I laughed at Joshua mocking my father's words. Dad lead us into the hospital, Joshua held my hand as we followed dad through the hallways. Nurses directed us the ward I had to stay in for the day. We sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before a nurse called me and showed me to my room for the afternoon.

"My name is Natalie Barkley, I will be your nurse for this afternoon. The doctor will be in to start the procedure shortly. But first we will be doing a round of vitals, then weighing you and measuring your height so we can determine your dosages. Which will be administered via IV. Then we will do vitals again and then we will begin the chemotherapy treatment". I nodded and looked at Joshua. He was staring out the window and running his fingers along his arm. Dad was outside, I assume talking to the doctor. He seemed nervous, I watched him follow the doctor down the hallway until he was out of sight.

"Joshua" My voice startled him. He looked at me worried and jumped out of his chair.

"Are you okay, are you uncomfortable?" Natalie looked up from my file and looked at the two of us in awe.

"No Joshua I'm fine, you seemed kind of dazed and I wanted to talk to you" He let out a short laugh and held my hand.

"Gosh you two make a gorgeous couple" Natalie said holding the file to her chest. Joshua looked at me in shock. Then he laughed.

"Oh we aren't together, I'm just a very caring friend" His words made my heart sink a little. I felt so safe near him and I didn't know why. We hadn't known each other long. But my attraction grew so quickly it bothered me. Natalie smiled and apologised. She then left the room awkwardly to find the doctor.

"Are you nervous for the treatment?"
"Yeah, is there any chance you could pick me up and run me out of here now so I don't have to do it?"
"No, I can't, you need to do this Em, it will make you feel better"
"Than why am I so nervous"
"Because this is your only chance of getting another chance at a healthy life" He was right, I had the temptation to run out of this ward but I know I had to stay. I look at Joshua and he's playing with the arm band with my details on it.

"You didn't tell me you were a Leo"
"You never asked Joshua"
"I know"
"What are you?"
"Gemini"
"Wow"
"Yeah I've got two faces"
"I'm a lion"
"Pretty fierce one at that Emma" He ran his fingers along my hand. Then intertwined his fingers with mine. I couldn't help but notice the difference in skin tone.
