"Hive bombers at 3' O'clock!" I did a quick barrel roll avoiding incoming fire. "There! Lupi, Lux, converge on the Hellmouth!" I shouted into the comms before launching a missile barrage at a battalion of knights below. "Prepare to drop. 3...2..1..now!" I teleported from my ship, rolling to the ground with the others. "Charge!" I held my gun up, and the Guardians let out a fearsome battle cry, rushing into battle, bloodthirsty. "Lupi, Lux, regroup on me! We push for the entrance now!"
I sprinted through a crowd of titans, who were pummeling all of the enemies in our way. "Go kick some ass Miller!" one of them called out. "I will!" I replied, running on to join the two fireteams. "Ogre, straight ahead!" Alli pointed, and Havoc was already on it. He leapt through the air, roaring in fury. He punched clean through its chest, rolling out the other side. "Nevermind!" Alli laughed and Havoc waves us over to a pressure plate.
"Alli, this one's yours."
She grinned sparking her sword. She slammed it down on the plate, infusing it with electricity until it began to glow a dark green. A bridge began to form, and I heard the titan commander shouting, "Form defensive lines now! Lupi and Lux are entering the target area!" And all of the warriors line up, blocking the entrance.
We got to the end of the bridge and slowed to a stop. "Well guys, no turning back now." Ryan cracked his knuckles.
"Okay. We travel in teams of three. Given there is nine of us, there is three teams. Arya, Leo, and Ferus, team one. Ryan, Havoc and Alli will make team two. Me, Darrin and Mason will make team three. Ready?" I said.
"Geronimo." We leapt into the dark chasm. "Don't break formation!" We all glided closer to each other, falling as a group.
"David, the ground is coming up soon! Prepare for a landing." Ryan said and everyone nodded.
After a minute of falling, it came time.
"Boost now!" We all activated our boosts and landed softly in The Dark Below."Ghost lights now." All of our ghosts appeared, basking the area in light. It was pitch black. Although we could see Thrall moving around in the dark. "Let's move. Stay close, and we'll go as quick as possible." We all took off at a sprint into the darkness. There was a small trail, with guiding lights. "Follow the lights! That's our way out!" Alli pointed out and I agreed.
"Is it just me or is the gravity increasing?!" Mason shouted a but spooked.
"It's the darkness. Get to the light!" we rolled into the light and the Thralls backed off.
"Alright. Use the lights to our advantage. On three, everyone run. Watch for holes and drop offs. Regroup at the end. Ready? Now!" I pulled my gun out, shooting three thralls ahead and sprinting off into the dark.
*******
I slid to a stop, on another pressure plate in front of a massive gate. I leaned up against a crate, catching my breath. The run was quite long. And filled with Thralls. I shook myself to my senses. After a few minutes, Havoc showed up. Then Ryan. Then Mason, Arya and Darrin.
"Where's Alli?""Here!" She sat atop a small outcropping laughing . "Took you long enough." She dropped from the ledge and drew the sword again, charging the next plate.
"So far so good. Check weapons and ammo."
Darrin repeated the order to his squad. The gates grinded, and slowly began to open revealing a massive bright cavern. "Let's move." We ran off into the light.
