Silence. Silence is all that awaited us.

"What's the deal? Where's the big bad?" Leo adjusted his launcher. Inspecting the room. "We did everything we needed, we killed those goons, so isn't he supposed to come kick our asses now?"

"You're right. It's too quiet. I don't like it." I said.

"Guys, fan out. Maybe there's something we missed". Alessia said, looking around the gigantic throne room.

"Hard to miss anything, it's not exactly a puzzle". Havoc grunted bored.

I closed my eyes. What could we have missed? We killed the gatekeeper, we defeated the witches, I looked up at a giant pillar above us. "Guys, look!" I pointed up at it, and everyone turned their heads.

Ryan flew up to it, landing on a ledge. "It's empty in here. Come on up." everyone boost jumped up to the ledge, stepping inside.

Havoc laid a hand upon the pillar. "Guys come feel this. It's vibrating." he said, and we all joined him, laying our palms on it.

"That's weird. Maybe this is the missing piece?" It suddenly began to glow, and shields blocked the way out.

"I'd say it is! Hive are popping up everywhere!" Shade and Spectra appeared, stating in unison.

"I count 38, and a massive energy surge!" Spectra said, putting us all on edge.

"Lock and load!" I spun my gun. "These shields could drop any second. When they do, go out blasting."

We all nodded, back and forth. "For the Traveler!" Leo and Ferus cried, as the shields dropped. I ducked, dodging as many shots as I could. I rolled a grenade out, blowing a hole in the wall. "Guys through here!" One by one, they jumped out, as I laid down covering fire from behind.

I kicked an acolyte back, then spun into another kick, downing the second. I backflipped through the hole last, hitting the ground hard. I smacked my head on the ground, blurring my vision. "Ugh shit." I got up slowly, and Havoc grabbed my shoulder pulling me behind a wall. A massive energy blast blew a crater in the ground where I was moments before. "Don't die on us yet captain!" Havoc laughed. "Fun hasn't even started!"

I laughed, and holstered my pistol. Time to bring out the big guns. I summoned my heavy rifle, The Thunderlord.

I pulled the hammer back, loading it. "Weapons free!" I dived from cover, opening fire on the horde. The arc bullets launched from the Chamber with a loud thudthudthudthud.

Lightning arcing across the room. Havoc cheered, laughing like a a maniac, and akimbo'd rocket launchers, firing openly on the crowd. After minutes of constant assault, they all lay dead. Piles of ash.

"Is that it? Do we win?" Leo reloaded his rocket launcher.

The entire room began to violently shake. "Get behind something!" A giant green tinted energy cluster appeared in the center, with a bright flash, he appeared.

Little Guardians. Like lambs to the slaughter.

"Does anyone else hear a creepy voice in their heads or have i finally snapped?" I said.

"He's using telepathy!" Ryan said amazed. "He must be stronger than we thought." I pulled out his fusion rifle.

"Well, the bigger they are, the harder they fall!"
