Chapter 7

AT THE HOSPITAL
NASH POV

We walk up to the front desk and I tell the lady that we are friends, family of Mr. McEllhiney. She said that only two people could go in the room at a time. "I think my mom and I should go in."Anna said. "Ok. Hannah and I will wait out here." I replied. "Ok. We'll see y'all in a little bit." Mrs. McEllhiney said and disappeared into the room. I looked over to Hannah and saw that she was trying to hide the fact that she was crying. I sit down next to her and rub her back. "He used to make me laugh." She whispered and laughed a little bit. "It'll be ok. I promise." I said. Then, I did something that only a crazy person would do. I softly kissed her on her lips. She just closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She hugged me and whispered, "I love you." I hugged her tighter and said, "I love you too." We just sat there hugging until Anna burst out of the room. She had her hand to her forehead and was taking deep breaths. Me and Hannah jumped up and hugged her. Hayes ran over from , well... I don't know..., and joined in the group hug. "Any news?" Hannah asked. Anna nodded and said, "He's awake. He's going to live!" And we all hugged again. We decided to go home but Mrs. Mcellhiney stayed behind with her husband. We walked out, Hannah's arm around my waist, mine on her shoulder, Anna's arm around Hayes' waist, and Hayes' arm on her shoulder. We walked to the car, got in, and I drove it to Hannah's house. We would pick up Mrs. McEllhiney in the morning.
