ANNAS POV:

As I stood there under the umbrella with Hayes, I thought about us.

How long has it been since we first met? How did we meet? How did this whole thing work out?

I looked up at Hayes. He was being his cute little self, staring off into the distance.

He saw me looking at him. He smiled at me and said "what?"

I smiled back and said "I'm so lucky to have you."

EARLY THE NEXT MORNING

HAYES' POV:

Everything is set up. Now I just have to go wake Anna up.

I walk down to her room and knock on her door.

I hear a faint "mhhmm hmhmm" coming from her room. She must just be waking up.

I walk in and sure enough she is still mostly asleep.

I crawl onto her bed and hug her.

"Hhmmmhmhmmhmmmm..."she says as she stretches. "What time is it?"

"5" I say.

"Whyyyyyyyyyy..." She says turning over again.

"C'mon babe ya gotta wake up! I have something to show you!" I say shaking her.

"Fine." She says finally.

I grab her hand and take her to my room. I walk over to the window and open it up.

She looks at me like I'm crazy.

I gesture for her to go out the window.

"Nuh-uh. I'm not going out the window." She says.

"Then I go first."

I climb out the window and onto the balcony.

She comes out after me.

"Why do we have to go through the window?" She asks.

"Cuz!" I say jokingly.

I actually had something blocking the door at the moment.

"Oh. My. Gosh... Hayes..." She says in shock.

"You like it?" I reply.

"It's-it's beautiful..."

We look out at the pond across the street. In the far corner, I had set up a picnic for the both of us.

I knew she would like it. How did I know? Let's not discuss that... (Let's just say... I follow her on tumblr...")

She sits there with her jaw dropped.

I laugh at her.

"Hayes...." She says.

"Ye-" I start to say but she cuts me off when she pulls me into a kiss. Then she hugs me and says "I love you! I love you so much!"

AT THE POND

I walk with Anna to the place where I had the picnic set up.

Anna was smiling like an idiot the whole way over. 😂

I couldn't help but laugh a few times.

She looks beautiful at this time of day.

Her hair shines in the sunlight that is just about to set.

I pull her close to my side and put my arm around her waist.

She smiles up at me with her perfect smile.

"Anna. You're gorgeous. You know that right?" I say.

"Why thank you Mr. Compliment-Giver-Person!" She says.

I laugh and she smiles at me again.

This causes her to trip over a tree root that she didn't see.

She lays on the ground laughing her head off at herself.

"I am so stupid!" She laughs.

"No you're not!" I say.

"See. I'm more stupid. I'm gonna go jump in the lake in the 40 degree weather!" I yell.

"HAYES DONT!" She yells back at me but it's already too late.

I ran off of the dock and jumped into the pond.

I felt the FREEZING cold water all over me.

"IM COMING TOO!" Anna shouted then I heard a tiny plop into the water.

Then I saw Anna swimming in front of me smiling and trying not to swallow pond water.

After a little while we decided to start drying off.

Luckily there was a shed by the pond that had towels of some sort inside of it.

Once we were dry we sat down on the waters edge. We talked and ate for about an hour.

Then Anna started getting cold from what it looked like.

I then put my jacket over her shoulders and said "You ready to walk back?"

She said "Ok."

So we started walking back.

I, with my shirt in my hand and she, with my coat over her shoulders.

I had a feeling that she would remember this for a long time.
