Aleks POV:

His arms wrapped tenderly around me, bringing me into his chest. I could smell cologne, sensual and mature. I decided that all I wanted was to remain here, against him, as he rubbed small circles on my back.

We lied on the couch, the TV behind us drawling on with whatever the channel was we watched. I didn't know what it was, as my back was turned to the TV. Only James could see what we watched, but something told me by the way his heartbeat was racing and thumping against my hand that he wasn't interested in what was on.

I gave a large sigh, comforted by his touch. I didn't know how long we had been lying like this, but I never wanted it to end.

"Comfortable down there?" he asked me, and I could feel his head lower to touch my own with his chin. I couldn't see his expression since all I saw was his chest, but I could tell by the way that he asked me that he was slightly amused.

"Yeah. Why?" I asked, ignoring his tone, and snuggled in closer to him.

"Just wondering," he finally said. I gave a smile into his chest, knowing he was probably mocking me, but nothing could bother me now. Not anything. I was in complete bliss.

"I mean, I have to go pick up Seamus, so," he said, his voice trailing off, and the moment was gone, tossed away. I frowned and pulled away from him, turning and swinging my feet off of the couch, rising awkwardly to my feet.

I didn't spare him a glance, angered by the shattering of complete bliss I had just been enjoying. I couldn't look at him. If I did, he would see how heartbroken and jealous I obviously was, and then he'd just tease me.

I stood awkwardly a few paces away, watching as he rose to his feet, trying desperately to appear like I wasn't disturbed.

He stared at me with a slightly amused look, his mouth crooked as he gave me a tight smile. He crossed over to me easily and grabbed my hands, which had been shoved nonchalantly into my pockets, holding them in between us. I looked anywhere but at him, even though I wanted to appear intact and completely unharmed by the fact that he had to leave me for his other boyfriend. I shivered at the thought. Other boyfriend: it sounded like a naughty word you were taught never to say by your parents.

"Listen," he told me, smiling gently, though his eyes were serious and intent, "Don't think of him. He's not the one I love. I love you, no one else."

It sounded terrible. Seamus wasn't loved, though he had a boyfriend-my boyfriend-and he didn't even know. It was like the worst kind of secret you could keep, evil and treacherous and backstabbing and-

"Okay?"

I gave a nod. "Yeah."

He gave me a quizzical look, not completely believing me. He settled for it, though, and released my hands. He took a step forward and reached up, grabbing the back of my head. Drunkenly, I leaned into his touch and the sudden warmth of his lips against my own, quickly falling back into paradise. His lips were languid against mine, slow and slight, teasing and coy. I closed my eyes as I stepped into the kiss, letting my arms hang loosely by my sides as he kissed me with such quiet wanting. I could tell he wanted to stay as well and kiss me for all eternity, but it wasn't long at all before he released me as lethargically as he had brought me into it. I blinked open my eyes slowly, drowsy from the energy loving someone took up. He stared back at me with smiling eyes, as happy and content as I was.

"I'll be back soon," he said.

He started to head up the stairs behind me, turning around to shoot me a questioning stare. I responded immediately by following him up, sunshine coming in from the sliding glass door that led out into the backyard.
