It's the end of recess and for the first time I feel truly happy. I mean today has been great! I talked to Chris and I feel like we're getting closer. Oh! And at recess I played catch with Cora and Chris! I know, I know, I'm a teenager. I'm supposed to be all tough and stuff, but sometimes you just have to relax and enjoy being a kid! Anyway, now I only have two more periods left in school. Then I'll be taking the bus-with Christopher! I've been thinking nonstop about him since, well since Friday. I am really starting to like him more! Sigh, I am getting more pathetic by the minute.
I walk into the classroom and see everyone talking and chatting about. I look around to see Chris talking to some of his friends. I haven't yet gotten their names quite yet but I know one of them is Dominic. That's the one Christopher said I should stay away from. Chris claims he has a “hate” list, full of people he doesn't like. I don't know which one is which so I don't pay much attention to them. I take a seat at my desk and open my book. It's getting to the good part, but before I get to the next chapter, the teacher tells everyone to sit down and be quiet.
“Today,” he says, “we're going to change seats.” Groan! Not again! With my luck I'll be sitting with people I don't even know! The teacher continues. Then he says something that really catches my attention. “You're going to be sitting in groups.” Groups! Wait this is awesome! With my luck I'll be sitting right next to Chris. Ah yes, today really is a great day! The next thing you know it, our teacher is writing on the board the groups:
Group 1:Christopher Rhiya Chelsea
Stephanie Cora Anthony
Group 2: Gabriel Daija Jeffery Jennifer Mary Jamilette
Group 3: Kaitlyn Brian Ercania Kaleb Devynne Robert David Joel
Group 5: Alexandra D. Dominic Alexandra A Benjamin
I couldn't believe it! I am going to sit next to Alexandra Amero and Dominic! Why me?! I look to Anthony. He turns and tells me something about how Dominic's room smell like it has a dead rat in it. He then points out Dominic to me. I look at him and I think he looks back. He's cute but I can't think another guy is cute when I'm with Christopher. Right? I look to Chris and ask if he could ask Dominic to switch with him. In the end I ask him myself but he refuses. Oh well. I join the jumble of moving desk and think of another plan to sit next to Christopher.
Finally after five minutes of pushing and moving desks, I sit down and look around. Christopher is so far away. I raise my hand and wait for the teacher to call on me. Finally he sees me. “Yes, Alexandra.”
“Can I switch seats. I can't see from here.” I can see but I want to sit next to Christopher who is close to the board.
“Yeah. How about you switch seats with Christopher here.”
“No. Can I switch Stephanie or Rhiya?”
“No. Only Chris.”
“Ugh, but that would ruin the whole point!”
“What did you say?”
“Oh, never-mind. I'll deal with this seat.” I put my head down with defeat. Ugh, stupid teacher. I want to sit next to Christopher, not switch with him!!! Sigh, ain't this seat going to be just perdy!
