Dan's chest was heaving and he fought to pull oxygen into his chest, but his lungs felt flooded by lust and satisfaction. With the brunette slumped against his chest, Phil could feel every ragged breath and forced exhale that tickled his neck, brining blood to the surface. From craning his neck downwards, the doctor could see an elegant pink flush splashed briskly over Dan's nose and cheeks.

A few minutes passed where both men leaned against each other, seeking balance through carefully placed shoulders and chests and hips. Phil broke away and leaned down to retrieve the bundle of clothes that were strewn across grass, concealing daisies and soaking up the dew that decorated blades of grass.
'Here,' the doctor mumbled as he passed Dan his portion of the clothes. While they tugged on t-shirts and buttoned up jeans, the managed to steal the occasional kiss or two.

Dan breathed an exhausted sigh, staring up at Doctor Lester from his perch atop the car's hood, then jumped down, allowing the doctor to intertwine their fingers and pull him forward towards the cliff's edge.

They sat, feet dangling over the edge, admiring the expanse of ocean below them. The waves caused the smooth, blue surface to swell and distort and overwhelm the jagged rocks that protruded from the sea, then sink again, having draped the stones in a shimmering layer, allowing them to catch the sunlight elegantly and stand out against the shifting ocean.

It was as if there was an entire world below them. A world not commonly seen from their simple town lives. A world with the irreplaceable power to make anyone feel at peace and provide an escape from the tedious city happenings. In this moment, Dan swore to himself that he would return here regularly, to wrap himself in Phil's arms and let the crisp country air drown out the muggy town air that his lungs had bricks accustomed to.

Most importantly, however, he would return with Phil, because, as he stared into the blue eyes that reflected the humble blue sky, he could see a boy who had the stars wrapped around his fingers and the world in the palm of his hand and the sun behind his every movement. And Dan was in love. So, completely, effortlessly in love.

He was overcome with the calming realisation, and his mind echoed phrases of love and devotion. A gentle smile tugged at the corners of his lips, which he pressed to Phil's before pulling back, hovering only half an inch away.
'I'm in love with you,' the brunette barely whispered, but managed to tickle the doctor's lips with his own, before the smile that had previously tugged pathetically at his lips broke fully across his face, bringing a golden tinge to the comforting brown eyes and adding a dash of red to the apples of his cheeks.

'I'm in love with you, too,'
