Darcy's POV
After hearing that someone you knew was dead the last thing you expect to hear is their voice. I wasn't accustomed to that sort of thing happening when it came to people dying, normally they were shot or stabbed and didn't get back up.
As soon as I heard Scott speak I turned around to see him stood in the doorway of what appeared to be a bedroom and he looked awful. Worse than I had ever seen him since he always kept up this air of wealth and status.
Casual Attire- Worn in Devon. Crinkled- Journey. Hasn't Changed Clothes.
Bags Under Eyes- Not Slept.
Hair- Messy. Running Fingers Through Hair- Anxious?"I wouldn't want anyone else to work this case, believe me." Scott added when I didn't say anything. "My Father's been murdered and I doubt the police will be open to any idea I've got to offer."
I crossed my arms and frowned at him, focusing on the case and not the connection I had to it. "Why is that?" I asked and glanced over my shoulder to see Sherlock waiting at the door of the main crime scene area.
"Because I'm their number one suspect." Scott answered solemnly and lowered his gaze to the floor. "I came back from Devon and found him lying there in his room with a bullet wound in his head."
Sherlock was starting to get anxious to start the case and I nodded at him before turning back to Scott. "And you called the police straight away?"
"Of course I did. Well, I considered calling an ambulance but obviously there was no need." Scott spoke with a lightness in his voice that I knew meant he was trying to cover up how he was actually feeling.
"Right, thank you." I replied and turned to join Sherlock who was looking both defeated and ecstatic at the same time. "Try not to look too disappointed that it's the wrong one with a bullet in his head." I commented with a chuckle before he walked into the bedroom, AKA the crime scene.
John was already examining the body of Mr Livingstone when we entered the room and Lestrade was observing apprehensively. As Sherlock put on a pair of latex gloves, and handed me a pair respectively, John acknowledged our arrival and started to tell us what he'd found. "Cause of death is this bullet wound to the head."
"Exit wound?" Sherlock asked straight away, before John could continue his assessment, and leant over the body as well.
"Yes, base of the skull. Bullet went clean through. Quick, painless." John answered and glanced up at me as I put my final glove on. "Rigor has set in, so the victim has been dead roughly two days, give or take. Blood has settled in the lower part of the body. He hasn't been moved post mortem." He concluded and moved away from the body.
Entry Wound: Top Right of His Forehead.
"What side of the head is the exit wound on?" I asked John and Lestrade stepped closer to the bed as we started to piece together what exactly had happened.
John felt the back of the head again and answered, "The left, well, his left."
Exit Wound: Left. Base of Skull.
High Angle of Entry.
Victim's Height: Roughly 6"3
Scott's Height: Roughly 6"1"There's no way Scott did this. The angle is too high and Scott is at least two inches shorter than his Father." I announced and Sherlock looked over his shoulder at me.
