The snow has long left the ground,
Melting and filling the earth with water.
Mold dances through the air
And catches me off guard.
Flowers push through the dead growth above them,
Desperate to once again feel the sunlight on their petals.
Ducks waddle across pavement,
Animals search for mates,
And birds sing spring songs from their perches.
Life is beginning again.
It has survived the dead of winter,
And innocent youth is found outside.
The sun occasionally makes its presence known,
And other times
Rain brings a cool drink to the plants sprouting.
Spring is here,
And life is abundant.
