"There is no way I'm doing that Matt."
"Come on Brooke, please, I really need you to do this you know how bad I am at it and you're the class topper."
I turned around to face him, a frown etched on my face as we walked down the crowded hallways. "Mathew Andrew Collins, I am not doing your math homework for you, got that? I know you haven't used your brain in a while, but at least try to, if there even is one in there." I said in a stern voice, standing on my tiptoes and smacking him on the back of his head.
James gave out a low whistle behind me as Reece and Liam laughed at our mini sibling fight. Cole, who was standing on my other side, smirked at Matt's subdued, shame-faced look as I scowled at him, Cole's face thoughtful.
"You know what? You both remind me of Ross and Monica from Friends." Cole mused.
I looked thoughtfully at Matt, replicating Cole's expression. "Yeah actually," I said. "I could totally see Matt getting 3 divorces in the-"
I was cut off by a loud, leering whistle from my left as a group of senior guys from the football team looked me up and down. The group leader, a guy named Robbie, was a really sleazy guy who looked like he could potentially force a woman into sex. He was always passing loud, embarrassing, and disturbing comments on many girls, along with his equally sleazy group of 6 or 7 guys.
Robbie stared at my ass and smirked, daring to throw a small candy piece he was eating at said body part. My smile dropped as I looked away, a little humiliated this was happening in front of my new friends, blushing at the embarrassing situation. I was also pissed, and could feel Matt stiffen beside me as I prepared for Matt's wrath on those boys - he was a little overprotective.
I put a hand on his chest to stop him as he stepped forward, but before any of us, including the small audience gathered around us at Robbie's loud whistles and actions, could even blink, Robbie was thrown against the locker wall and his throat choked by Cole's muscular arm, his impressive height dwarfing Robbie's not-as-tall frame.
Cole had an extremely rage-filled expression on his face - I had never seen him this angry. Irritated and frustrated, maybe, but never so spiteful and terrifying.
Holy mother of god.
I gasped loudly as Cole continued to choke him, Robbie's friends going to grab him and push him away. Matt was by them in an instant, shoving away the boys. There was a tense silence surrounding us, the only sound being Robbie's choking sounds. Liam and James quickly moved forward and pulled Cole off of Robbie, Reece taming Matt.
Cole backed off, him and Matt staring down at a terrified Robbie.
Together, they made a terrifying image, I thought as I stood paralyzed in the hallway.
Matt shoved Robbie back hard, the loud 'clang' of his body hitting the metal lockers echoing around us. Matt leans in close, stooping a little.
"Matt, no," I say softly, but he ignores me.
"If you ever, ever, talk to my sister or even look at her, I will not hesitate to beat you up, got that?" Matt leered at Robbie as the terrified man frantically nodded his head. I stood dazed by the side, the thick air and testosterone overload making me even more confused and my thoughts blurry.
"What's going on here?" The principal's loud voice echoed in the hallway. He signaled to Cole, Matt, and Robbie and pointed to his office. With one last menacing glare towards Robbie's friends, Matt and Cole set off towards the office, Robbie keeping a safe distance away.
As they left, it seemed like everyone collectively let out a breath and then started murmuring, some staring at me. Amanda and April quickly rushed to my side, concerned looks on their faces.
