My pen made a loud sound as it hit the wooden desk. I was finally done with a history essay I had been keeping off for quite some time, and I sighed in contentment, stretching my hands above my neck.
Yesterday I had hung out with the boys as we had watched 2 horror movies and played a game of black ops. Matt had screamed like a baby at all the scary scenes in the movies, and we had all laughed so hard at him. My stomach had cramps by the end of the movies.
Today, it was a Saturday and our midterm exams were looming quite close, starting a week later. I was prepared and had been studying really hard for all my subjects.
It had also been two and a half months since Cole had moved in, and he got along so well with everyone. All of the boys together reminded me of the magcon boys, because the stuff they did together was crazy, to say the least - from putting whipped cream on Matt when he slept to having food-eating competitions that normally didn't end up well, they had done it all.
Jack and Nate also got along very well with all five boys - sometimes, when the seven of them moved in a group through the hallways, I swear I could hear girls swoon and flip their hair. April and Amanda had also officially met them and they too got along well, and now we were all like a big group of very annoying teenagers.
My eyes flickered outside and I sighed at the beauty I saw. It was only 11 am, and the sun was shining bright, filtering through the leaves of the many trees in our backyard and surrounding the house.
It really was a beautiful summer day.
Closing my notebook, I decided to take a dip in our pool. I walked towards my wardrobe and removed the only swimsuit I owned - it was a red bikini that April had forced me to buy when we were 14.
I stripped and put on the bikini. The top was tight now and basically pushed up my breasts, and the strings were a little too thin, but since I was the only one home, it didn't matter. The bottom part fit perfectly, and the material was comfortable. I shrugged on a long shrug on top and made my way downstairs.
The house was quiet - dad was at a meeting and Matt had gone for a late breakfast with the boys for pancakes at the cafe I worked for. Sunlight was flooding through all our large glass windows, and the day looked perfect.
My feet padded the wooden floor as I opened my hair, removing it from the constraints of the rubber band. The pool in our backyard was quite large - Matt and I had fought for it, and I still maintained it and swam once in a while.
The sun warmed my back as I took off my floral shrug and dived into the water. The feel of the cool water was like heaven on my skin as I resurfaced, my wet hair sticking to my face and now touching my waist. I sighed in contentment and floated for a while on my back, almost falling asleep. I then started to take laps in our pool, my amateur strokes clumsy yet allowing me to finish 5 laps.
I was in the middle of a lap when the loud sounds of hollering and what sounded like burping floated through the back gate. Matt, Cole, and, surprisingly, James were laughing as Liam burped loudly. They all walked in, with Liam and Reece facing the other three. Reece shoved Liam playfully and jabbed at his sides. They hadn't noticed me yet.
Reece held up his hands and took a deep breath, letting out possibly the longest and loudest burp I had ever heard. It surpassed Liam's burp, to which Liam muttered a loud 'damn it'. Everyone laughed at Reece's monumental burp.
James shook his head at his brother. "That's disgusting. Clearly, mom didn't teach you how to function in normal society."
"Fuck off, miss 'function in normal society'. If I remember correctly, it was you who had chucked unpaid for eggs at me in the middle of Target."
