He comes closer to me, raising his hand and almost touching my cheek as his stare pins me down and -
I'm pulled out of my dream as the feel of water on me and chortling in my room startles and wakes me up. Spluttering, I wipe the cold water off of my face and roll over instinctively to get up, forgetting that the edge of the bed was a lot closer than I anticipated. The blankets tangle my legs together and make me fall hard on the ground in the formation of a human pretzel.
The chortles turn into full blown laughter as I grown into the carpet and try to untangle myself from the wet sheets. My hands reach out to gain support and instead pull down the nightstand, causing my hairbrush to land on my head.
The laughter escalated as I wince and roll over, blinking for a few seconds.
Looking up, I see Matt crouched on the ground laughing, clutching his stomach with tears in his eyes.
Beside him, Dad leaned on the cupboard and tried to control his own laughter while holding his phone and recording the incident.
I gasped and pushed my wet hair behind my ears. "You idiots, I'm going to KILL you both," I shouted, removing the sheets and launching myself at Matt, who was the closest to me.
Laughing at me, Matt ran out the door and turned to stick his tongue out in an immature way. As I narrowed my eyes at him, I chased him down the steps as Dad ran down as well. Dad rounded the kitchen counter as I tried to catch him.
"Screw you, old man. I'll get you later." I spit out at my dad as he continued to chortle at my expense.
I chased after Matt, who ran into the backyard and laughed at my slow pace.
"You should've seen your...face, Brooke when I threw the...cold water on you," Matt managed to let out between his fits of laughter.
The lounge table separated us as I fake smiled at him. Noticing that the pool was only a foot behind him, I smirked mischievously as he bent down to control his chuckles and catch his breath.
"Look! It's a bird!" I shouted and pointed to his left. Matt, like the idiot he was, turned and squinted as I ran towards him and shoved him as hard as I could towards the pool.
However, I must have grossly underestimated his army reflexes, because the next thing I knew, my body was thrown into the pool as Matt stayed standing, having flipped me.
Spluttering and wet for the second time that morning, I narrowed my eyes at Matt as I resurfaced. He was laughing even harder now, beating his fists on the ground at my failed attempt at revenge. Dad was standing at the backdoor, laughing as well and wiping a tear, having seen the whole humiliating incident.
I huffed at them and submerged my head, trying to save the little dignity I had left.

"What." I gritted my teeth together and resisted the desire to throw the pencil in my hand at Matt, who was tapping my shoulder and irritating me.
He chuckled. "I'm sorry Bo, it was just a harmless prank, I didn't mean to hurt your pride."
I gritted my teeth again. "Your point? Why'd you come in here, just to annoy me?"
"Please I'm not that jobless," I scoffed at him. "Dad said to tell you that some hotshot investor wants to sponsor some new million dollar project in the company, so he invited him to dinner today. You and I need to dress appropriately and meet him downstairs in 10, k?"
