All day you had been putting on a fake smile. You had just destroyed your relationship with you sister, she went and got herself caught by the cops for drink driving at a party and she got mad at you when you couldn't bail her out. You just walked around HQ with a fake smile plastered onto your face knowing she'd never forgive you for not bailing her out, but there was nothing you could do except not have a meltdown in front of everyone.

It seemed that everything that went wrong made you feel worse, something as small as dropping a pen could set you off. All day you had survived, but you were so distracted you didn't get your work done, so here you are sitting in a dark room next to L, in the brink of tears. Next thing that went wrong would set you off.

And of course because luck was definitely not in your side today, your computer had to go blue screen of death on you, and crash.

"WHAT?! NO! PLEASE DON'T!"

You frantically tapped the keyboard as you felt tears stream down your face. Too late, the screen went black.

"WHY DOES THE WORLD HATE ME!" You yelled, making L jump at you outburst.

You hit your head against the desk and decided to let yourself drown in you own tears.

"Something is telling me you had a horrible day..." L said.

You heard his spinny chair roll over to you.

"What happened today?" He asked, putting an arm around you.

"Everything went wrong, my sister got so mad at me for not bailing her out when she got pulled over by the cops for drink driving, it was her own fault and I couldn't do anything but she still wants me dead... then I got rained on when I was running errands and now my computer crashes" you sobbed.

"There was nothing you could have done to help your sister, stop blaming yourself, you did nothing wrong. It's her fault not yours" L said, pulling you up off the desk to look at him.

"But she's never going to forgive me, the last time I didn't bail her out for something she was mad at me for three years!"

"Listen (y/n)" he began, drying your tears with his sleeve.

You looked up at him and started straight into his eyes.

"Nothing was your fault. You did absolutely nothing wrong, if you're so worried about your sister not forgiving you, I could talk to her" L said.

"Really?"

"Really"

"Alright then..."

He pulled you into his arms and hugged you tightly.

"You'll be alright (y/n)"

And with those words, he planted a kiss on your cheek, making you smile a real smile for the first time that day.
