"Bellamy wait," You say as you limp run you're way over to him. He turns around and you can see his heart drop.
"Kes I__"
"I want to come with you." You say cutting him off with a serious tone. He looks you up and down before responding.
"You know I can't let you." He says softly. He reaches his hand up and cups your cheek, you fall into his touch. You didn't want to fight him anymore, you didn't want to make it harder on Bellamy.
"Ok.... but can I ask you something?" you say nervously, even though you knew his answer would probably be good.
"Anything." Bellamy says swirling his thumb on your cheek.
"I mean... I want us to be a thing but..... you know...I can't... I mean I don't want to loose you as a friend... but.... do you... like... maybe... want to... date? But only as friends... if that's even possible... because I want to stay friends." You manage to get out. Even though one second passes, it feels like one hour, you actually didn't know how he would react.
"You want to date, but want to stay friends?" Bellamy ask confused.
"I know it sounds weird but__" is all you can say before Bellamy crashes his lips on yours, giving you the answer you need, yes.
"A kiss as your boyfriend," Bellamy says before hugging you.
"and a hug as your friend."
"May we meet again." You wimper. He lets go of you, the loss of touch stings.
"May we meet again." Bellamy says before kissing you on the forehead. You watch him leave. You saw as Abby left too. Great, now you'll have to take Abby's and Raven's place. You turn to walk off and see your Father walking towards you. You knew he was going to scold you for not being in the med bay, and how he didn't approve of Bellamy.
"We need to talk." Kane says.
"About what?" You question.
"Your brother." Kane adds.
"My what!?" You ask confused.
"Let's go somewhere else." Kane says, grabbing you under the shoulder so you can take pressure off your leg. You both walk over to a little green tree, the tree that belonged to your grandmother.
"I have a brother?" You ask again.
"I thought he was dead." Kane answers.
"Woah, wait. Can you explain why I even have a brother first?" You ask.
"Your brother was already born before you came along, but you were never an accident. Me and your mother knew we shouldn't have you, but we did, and they were going to keep you in lockup until you were 18, and I couldn't do that. But your brother volunteered to be put in lockup. And before they took him away, I convinced the rest of the councilmen to give him to a neighboring couple who wanted a child, but in order for that to happen, he wasn't allowed to see you." Kane replies. You sit there for a moment, shock covering your face.
"What's his name?" You question.
"Macallan... Macallan Jared Kane." Your father answers.
"So why have you kept this from me?"
"Because If you knew of his existence he would be killed."
"Where is he?"
"I don't know,"
"So why are you telling me this all of a sudden?"
"Because now I can tell you without the risk of him being killed. I also thought you deserved to know."
"Well thanks for telling me I was the reason my brother didn't get to live the life he deserved." And with that you stormed off.
You run to the Ark. You enter and you still see your crutches on the floor from eariler today. Then someone picks them up, it was Murphy. A strange feeling engulfed you, and you went to go talk to Murphy.
"Shut up Murphy!" You say for no apparent reason.
"Well hello to you too Firegirl. Is it that time of the month?" Murphy questions with a smirk.
"I have a brother." You say to him, you needed someone to talk to, Bellamy wasn't here, and you knew Murphy would listen.
"Huh?" Murphy raises an eyebrow.
"I have a brother, and I never noticed him, and I was just told he existed right now." You vent, you didn't even know what you were saying anymore, it just spilled out like a cup of water, no matter what you did you couldn't stop it in time.
"Need some help?" He asks, the smirk was off his face and had been exchanged for a serious one.
"Maybe a little." You reply. He puts down your crutches and helps you up on a stool.
"I want to find him." You tell Murphy.
"Your brother?"
"Yes."
"Lets do it," he says, "but not before you calm down."
"Fine." You say. Theres a moment of silence then Murphy asks for two drinks. You didn't drink, because you saw what it did to your mother, but with everything going on today, you were going to. You two sit in silence until you receive your drinks.
"So I hear you and Bellamy are a thing," he says taking a swig.
"What makes you think that?" You ask.
"Word gets round."
"Shut up Murphy." You say as you push him playfully.
"There it is." Murphy smiles. It was a real, happy smile. It was so unusual, part of you went numb. You must have been staring because the smile went away.
"Hey, you ok Firegirl?" Murphy asks concerned as he grabs your arm. His touch was different from Bellamy's. Bellamy's touch was soft, while his touch was rough, it filled you with fear, and you kind of liked it.
You shake out of your thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm fine." You say. You look down at your untouched drink. If you were with Bellamy, you would have pushed it away and said how it reminded you of your mother, but Murphy brought out a different side in you. You picked up the cup and chugged the brown liquid inside. You then understood why your mother used it, it made you numb. You wanted more.
"I want more."
"You sure?" Murphy questioned
"Did I stutter Murphy?" You say giving him a glare.
"I'm not getting you drunk."
"It's just one more."
"Then one more after that, and then one more after that__"
"Darnit Murphy, stop testing my limits."
"Did you seriously just say 'darnit'?"
"Murphy__"
"Ok Firegirl fine." He gives up. You overpowered John Murphy. You felt so empowered, If you could scare Murphy, then definitely could have gone to Mount Weather. Murphy passes you another drink and you chug it. Murphy looks at his cup, he's only finished half of his first.
"You must have a lot on your mind." Murphy says. You glare at him.
"Really, I never would have guessed." you say sarcastically making Murphy give off a little laugh.
"Careful now," he says lifting his cup to his mouth, "you're starting to sound like me." He finishes his cup. You give off a little laugh. That strange feeling you had started to become stronger, you had to stop it. Maybe a change in conversation.
"Lets go." You say to Murphy.
"Now?" He questions.
"Now." You reply. You jump off the stool but Murphy catches you before your feet touch the ground.
"Not today, Firegirl." He says, picking you up bridal style.
"Can you not?" You ask in a sassed voice.
"Can you not?" Murphy asks back in annoyed voice. He picks up your crutches and brings them back to the med bay.
"So how do you plan on escaping this prison without getting caught?" He questions.
"I found a panel in the Ark that we can lift up to get out." You explain.
"Tell me which way." Murphy says.
"Put me down and I'll show you." You say, not asking.
"I'll put you down when you don't have a hole in your leg." Murphy replies. You roll yours eyes and direct him to the spot. He lifts up the panel and throws you inside.
"Be careful when placing the panel down, if you don't let it down carefully, it will make a loud noise, and we'll get caught." You inform him.
"Yeah, yeah." He replies. He walks under the panel and lets it down slowly, when he lets it down, he moves his hand and smashes his finger.
"AH__"
"Murphy shut up they'll hear you." You silent yell and cover his mouth.
"Lets just get moving." he says with a wince.
