Chapter 8 (The Old Cottage)

I was running into the darkness of the forest.

Tears blurred my eyes as I ran as my little legs could take me.

The roaring of the fire was all I could hear.

All I could do was run and scream for help.

*Gasp*
You sit up in a room with wooden walls, a dresser, a small mirror on the wall and a bed you were laying in. You hear foot steps coming closer to the door and someone opens it. It was an old lady with a tray of food and water.

"I'm glad to see your alright, you took quite the fall." she said as she put down the tray on the little wooden table next to the bed. " I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Ruth."

"Um, hi Ruth, nice to meet you... well uh you see I have no idea what happened yesterday and I have no idea where I am so could you explain?"

"Ah sure, so lets see... I was walking to collect berries for my pie that I was going to make and the bushes are usually near a cliff. Anyway I was collecting them when I saw a body laying on the ground, pretty beat up. and that's how I found you, it seemed as though you had fallen down. I'm glad that I was able to get you in time. Are any of you memories coming back or still no luck?"

Your memories  were flooding back piece by piece.... the blood... your team members faces... the mans face... Natsu's voice..

" Dear are you alright? You look like you just saw a ghost."

"I'm fine..." you had realized where you were and calmed down. "Where is your bathroom?"

"It's down the hall to your left."

you walked to the bathroom and shut the creaky door behind you. you turned to face the mirror that was above the small sink. 'monster. your a monster. Theres no one for you left.'

Your mind betraying you; always thinking of the worst outcome.
"I cant go back, they will probably hate me." you mumble under tour breath.

You splashed some water on your face and dried it off with the towel next to the mirror and look in the mirror to see the reflection of the man who killed your parents. "No I will never become like him, not it a million years!"

You walked out of the bathroom into the kitchen were Ruth was, looking at the oven. "The pie is almost ready if you would like to try some"

"Sure" you replied. You need to do something to get what happened off of your mind so you told Ruth you were going to get some fresh air. You stepped out side to see a beautiful meadow with fields of flowers, you look to the back of the house to see the cliff Ruth was talking about in a close forest. 

trying to remember how you fell off you bumped into a man carrying a basket off wood. "Oh sorry, I didn't see ya there. " he said with a smile.

Lucy's POV

Its the day after the chaotic battle and I'm beat. I got out of bed and looked for Erza or Wendy because we were staying in the same room together but no luck. So I decided to get dressed and try to find them. As I was walking out I heard Natsu, Gray, and Erza talking about where to start looking for Y/n.

"We could look at the guild to see if she went back." Natsu said trying to seem smart.

"You idot she was trying to be alone and the train tickets are still here, she was too beat up to walk there." Gray said trying to one up him.

" did you just call me dumb, icicle?"

"Yea I did flame brain, try to get that through your thick skull."

"ENOUGH YOU TWO. if we keep this up we will never find her." Erza said "I think we should split up and try to find her that way. I don't think she could have gotten far in the state she was in."

I went over and opened the door pretending like I didn't hear their conversation. "hey guys, what cha' talking about."

"we are going to look for Y/n in about an hour, we will split up and go in different directions and hopefully we will find her quicker that way." Erza explained.

damn... why does she get all of the attention...

So we all went out and followed Erza's directions.
