"Are you sure you need to go to work today?"
Delilah frowned in the mirror as she smoothed down her high-waisted button-up skirt. She was going to head back to Cara Cara for a few hours due to Luann needing her help with an emergency regarding the distribution of a new film. It was decided it would be easier for her to head into the office than work from home.
She turned to look at Jax, who was holding a very slobbery Abel.
"It's only a few hours," Delilah replied.
"Yeah, but it's Fun Town. Thought this could be our first family outing." Jax pouted from the bed.
"Well just think this is your and Abel's first father and son outing."
A small smile graced his lips. "It would be nice for Mama to be there."
Delilah rolled her eyes before turning to face him completely. "You'll be fine. I'm sure everyone is waiting to see what Abel looks like anyways."
"He looks like you."
"Abel is the spitting image of you." Delilah refuted.
Abel was a little over 3 months old. His eyes were turning into Jax's cool blue and he had a light dusting of fine blond whisps. She didn't see much of herself in her baby boy.
Jax stood with their son and walked closer to her. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her lips. Delilah smiled and replied with another one to his lips. "What's going on?"
She knew just his worries weren't extending to her going back to work.
"Nothing." He replied quickly.
"You sure?" She questioned.
"Yeah. Just going to miss you, that's all."
"It will only be a few hours and then I'll be there for lunch for Abel." Delilah smiled and placed another kiss on his lips and then a kiss on Abel's head. "Love you."
"Love you too."
...
Lip was unsure how he felt about this. He didn't even know why he agreed to do this, but Isla wanted to. With Fawn out of sedated detox, he and Isla are walking down the halls of St. Thomas so Isla could see her mother.
He didn't know why she wanted to, but when his daughter asked he couldn't find it in himself to say no. At the end of the day, Fawn was her mother and a part of Lip knew that after this, Fawn will probably become some absent figure that probably won't even send a postcard their way.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Lip asked his daughter. He just wanted to spare his daughter this fucking weight of having a junkie mom. He thought he would be glad when Fawn was gone. Things might be easier without her around.
"Yeah, I do," Isla assured him.
He didn't bother knocking as he opened Fawn's door. She was sitting up in bed watching TV and he can say his wife had seen better days. Her blonde hair was growing out, brown roots showing. Her skin looked sunken in and pale. He thought this was a shade of the woman he used to love.
But when he thought about it, he had done this to her. He did this.
He knows loving someone like him isn't easy, but they were young and he was stupid. He didn't know the meaning of relationships and what they meant. He didn't know what he wanted except for a good time. Fawn was just easy. For a time she was uncomplicated and they grew up together in this Life. She didn't ask or demand things from him except his dick and he was perfectly okay with that. But he started to grow up and she never did. Then she became pregnant and he resented her for it.
