Gemma, Lyla, and Delilah kept vigil at the Sheriff's station. They had arrived at sunset to be supportive of the guys from the interrupted melee. The girls had provided a meager breakfast of donuts and coffee. Of course, Delilah had to pour a whole cup of sugar in Jax's. She informed him how unhealthy it was. Delilah was burrowed into Jax as she sought his warmth from the morning chill.
His hands snuck underneath her shirt onto her lower back as he traced a pattern onto her skin. She thought she could fall asleep as she listened to the reassuring sound of his heartbeat.
"You alright?" Jax asked her quietly.
Delilah leaned her head back, but she didn't move it off his shoulder. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?"
His blue eyes look down at her and he gave her a sad smile. He responded by pressing a kiss to her forehead. "How's Little Man?"
"Don is watching him with Isla. He was passed out when I left."
"What do you say about a little family vacation after this?"
"The beach sounds nice." She told him as she played with the string of his hoodie.
"Sounds like torture," Jax added.
"What?" She said confused.
"You in an itty bitty bathing suit for other men to see," Jax pointed out.
"You're such a caveman."
"You love it." He said as his arms wrap around her tightly.
"Lord knows why." She replied before she was rewarded with a sweet kiss.
Delilah pulled back and cupped his cheek as she swiped her thumb across his cheek. "It'll be over soon."
"I know, but I'm wondering what in the hell is taking so long," Jax muttered as the doors to the station open up revealing Unser.
"What?" Clay asked.
"Stahl's been locked in a room with FBI two hours now. No idea what's going on." Unser informed them.
"What about Weston?" Jax asked.
"Still waiting to hear from the DA. Sorry."
"You should go on back to the clubhouse. They're gonna need you there." Clay said to Gemma.
Delilah found herself brought into a tight hug by Jax.
"You be careful, okay." She whispered.
"Always am," Jax told her.
Delilah pressed another kiss to his lips. Delilah moved out of his arms as she went over to her brother and hugged him tightly. "You be careful too."
"You don't need to worry, sis."
"Someone has to." She replied as they pull apart from each other.
"Yeah, I guess," Lip replied sadly.
...
The girls arrived back at the clubhouse. Gemma was instantly swarmed by some croweaters that had concerns about the food running low. Lyla went and checked on Piper, Kenny, and Ellie. Delilah found Rosie sitting on the couch watching Isla and Abel play. Before Delilah could seat, Rosie got up and motioned for them to walk back to one of the dorms.
"Everything okay?" Rosie asked.
"Apparently the Feds are interested in Zobelle, but the guys will find a way around the hiccup," Delilah told her friend.
