Stranger

“You guys hungry?” Daryl asked, carrying Lexi’s bags into the house.

“I am!” Luke yelled, jumping with his legs together around the living room.

“Of course you are, you’re always hungry” Daryl laughed “How about you?” He said looking at Lexi

“I could eat” she smiled and kissed Daryl tenderly as he leaned over lowering his mouth to hers.

“I wish we had some more of that spaghetti” Luke said sadly

“You guys ate it all?” Lexi said looking at Luke then Daryl

“Me and dad had it three days in a row and we would have had it four but it was all gone” Luke admitted as Daryl groaned and Lexi laughed

“Did you eat the bowl full in the freezer as well?” Lexi asked

Daryl and Luke looked at her confused

“You put some in the freezer?” Daryl asked

“Yeah, my recipe makes a lot so I put some in the fridge and I froze the rest.  There should be a big bowl of it in the freezer” Lexi explained

“Bless you” Daryl smiled, giving her another kiss “Okay, spaghetti it is”

Going into the kitchen while Daryl took her bags upstairs, she took out the big bowl of sauce from the freezer.  Dumping it in a sauce pan and putting it on the stove so it would thaw, she then got another pot to boil water for the pasta.

“You need any help?” Daryl ask, standing in the doorway

“No, I’m good” Lexi smiled “Although I won’t be able to make the garlic bread, I don’t see any bread left”

“I can run up the street and grab one” Daryl said

“It’s up to you, if you want some garlic bread with it then it won’t take long to make it” Lexi said, stirring the sauce.

“I do and I’m sure Luke does…okay I’ll be right back” Daryl said softly, pulling her hair off her shoulder leaning down for another kiss.

“I really missed you” Daryl whispered

“I did too” Lexi said, feeling her heart speed up.

Watching Daryl walk back into the living room, Lexi laughed hearing him argue with Luke as Luke continued jumping around the room with his legs together.

“What in the world are you doing?” Daryl asked

“Jumping bean, Tank and I are gonna practice and get into the world record book for longest time being a jumping bean” Luke explained

“Oh okay” Daryl said, trying not to laugh “Well practice later,  I’m going to the store to get the stuff for Lexi so she can make that garlic bread again, do you want to go with or stay here with Lexi?”

“Stay here” Luke said, flopping down on his giant pillow in the floor.

“Lexi, you need anything else?” Daryl said popping his head back in the kitchen

“I don’t think so at least not for right now, I’ll go through everything later and make a list and go to the store tomorrow” Lexi said stirring the sauce again.

“Okay, be right back” he said softly leaning in for another kiss as Lexi giggled.

Smiling at her and giving her a wink, Lexi watched him walk back through the kitchen and out the door.  She knew it would be even harder to leave them now but at this moment she didn’t care, she couldn’t be happier being back. 
Sitting down to eat dinner, Lexi tried to hide a smile as Daryl and Luke slurped their hearts out while eating the spaghetti.  She was so glad she had saved some of the sauce and froze it, this was certainly a good idea by Luke.
