I shoved my books in my back as the bell rang. I just ended with physics. As I walked down the street I felt my phone buzz. I looked down and it was from my dad
Dad
Hey hurry home. We have a guest.
We never really had guests so this was really odd. I decided not to text back and continued to walk. I soon walked into my neighborhood and made my way to my house. As I walked I noticed and unfamiliar car in the driveway. I just shrugged it off and walked inside. The house was warm and smelled delicious like someone was cooking something
"Hey Dad!" I shouted as usual.
"Shh don't be so loud." He said.
I was surprised by his apperence. He wasn't wearing his usual polo shirt and jeans and sneakers. He was wearing a grey tux with a white tie. A tux what the hell?
"Dad what are you wearing." I said with a giggle
"Sam I want to introduce you someone." He said with a small smile. I haven't seen him look so happy in years.
"Sure dad." I said following him into the kitchen. As I walked in I saw a lady with blonde hair drinking coffee. She looked as if she was around the same age as my dad. She looked up at me and smiled and got up.
"Hello you must be Samantha I'm Nicole its so nice to finally meet you." She said pulling me into a hug.
"Uh hi.." I said quietly
"Sam this is my girlfriend Nicole." My dad said with a smile.
My heart sank
"Girlfriend?" I said
"Look I know I should have-."
"No im- you know what I'll be in my room." I said walking out of the kitchen and into my room slamming the door.
I collapsed on my bed and felt the hot tears stream down my face. I couldn't stand the thought of my dad marrying Nicole. It was just to be me him and graylin. I don't know why I'm overreacting so much. Its just when my mom passed away it was hard. Not only for me but all of us.
I looked over to my nightstand and picked up the framed picture of me and her on a beach trip. I studied it and soon felt my eyes sting again. I missed her so much. She was the person who was there when nobody else was. She was like my best friend but now she's just gone..
I just felt as if my whole world just came crashing down. I put the picture down and walked over to my window. I honestly would rather be anywhere but here.
